Just in case anyone else has this particular problem...
Running 1.5.2 Unhinged (with added mods)
For no apparent reason the Crafting Monitor started showing my craft orders as having no items in either the "Currently Crafting" or "Missing Materials" sections. They were totally blank. After trying cutting off power to my ME Controller, cancelling all active orders, and breaking various sections of ME Cable, I discovered breaking and re-placing only a corner of the ME Assembler, it returned to normal operation.
