I know we're a ways off from any packs with it yet, but I thought a while back there was a google docs sheet floating around on these forums of the progress each pack had on it. I can't find this though. So sort of curious where things stand for DW20, and the other packs now.

That's not what I was talking about. I see that. What I'm referring to was a google docs file that was being distributed on here showing the % each pack was at. This had to be a month or two ago. That thread is maybe a week old at best.
Updated mods and a proper pack are two different things. I wouldn't expect anything resembling the size of DW20 before Labor Day. Maybe.
I'd say that totally depends on when TE is released for 1.7, really. Not that it's the key feature for all good packs, it's just that it's pretty much the only real limiter I see on a mass Exodus to 1.7 from 1.6.4 now.
I mean, I checked out 1.7 recently. Wouldn't have given it a second thought at first. But by the elder gods, is it ever more beautiful then any minecraft edition before it. Maybe it's the shaders. Oh wait, yeah, IT'S THE SHADERS BUNDLED WITH VANILLA. Seriously, it's gorgeous.

On topic, I meant the large-ish packs like DW20. Assuming he stays true to form, he's going to want ALL THE MODS, which requires them to be ready, and take longer to beta. I have no doubt we'll see some of the new, more focused (i.e. smaller) 'signature' packs a bit sooner than that.To be fair, direwolf20 would likely still be using Redpower 2 if he could. ...that said, I shall repeat myself: Once TE is release for 1.7, even a beta release, I'd wager, people will flock to 1.7 in DROVES. So, uh, @King Lemming not to be a jerk or anything, but is there a rough ETA for TE 1.7? Other then "when it's out", I mean. I somewhat wish to know how right I am, and this depends on TE being out for 1.7, in any shape or form. Heck, even the RF system may be enough!

I can't say I agree (about the droves bit). I really haven't seen a lot of 'oh wow, I want to play with that!' updates from any of the mods for 1.7 yet (not to say they aren't out there). Considering it's unlikely a world would survive a 1.6 to 1.7 upgrade, I'm betting a lot of people will be content to stay on 1.6.4 until their 'must have' mod(s) are ready, and even then, only if they have a reason to upgrade, not just "ok, this is the exact same thing, but it works on 1.7 now".
And you're correct, DW20 is not a flagship FTB pack, although from what I understand it is the most downloaded 1.6.4 pack (I can't cite a source on that, but I think I saw that stat in these forums somewhere).
It's got the most servers, is what you're citing. And that's just the threads. I checked the whitelist section. You can only go to page 6 before it's mostly old, outdated servers. Ultimate is outdated but still has 6 pages in its whitelist section. Including a few recently started threads. Monster whitelist: 3 pages, but then again, not everyone can RUN monster. Is that a big surprise?
But here's the kicker: Everyone here is suggesting TPPI. Why? It's basically a updated Ultimate. Can't find info on how many servers there are for it on this site either.
So here's how I base it: Word of Mouth(from what I've noticed). And I'd say that TPPI is a more popular pack then any other "Official" pack currently.
Wrong my good sir. All the future ftb "main" packs will be using RF as its power system. TE is pretty much the core RF mod, sooooo..
...wat. I'm wrong because you supported my argument? I didn't mean everywhere, obviously, since some already are going to 1.7 as a reminder. I mean, that totally depends on who needs RF to get things done. The IC2 forums will jump when they have a 1.7 version of IC2, and don't they already? The Buildcraft forums will jump when they have BC 1.7 and Forestry will jump then as well. UE mods will jump when UE reaches 1.7 and the ATLauncher should already be getting ready to jump if they haven't already.
I mean here, these forums, and by extension, the packs, and those who use them. You'll see more people on these forums going to 1.7 when RF is out because TE is where it's from and a lot of people here like it(citation needed).
