Tried adding it to the DW 20 pack, crashes when you place a shell storage(but not a shell constructer oddly, which seems to work just fine for making clones).

So I tried it in Monster, seems like all the blocks place fine in that pack but the shell storage doesn't actually let you swap to other shells.

Guessing it just needs some more post modjam time in order to be more friendly with other mods, but it's possible i'm just derping extremely hard. Anyone manage to trick it into working?

Works in my personally builds. The item in your hand is just for placing it, so blockID conflicts can occur.
Swaping Shells does require you to walk into the shell storage, but it also requires the shell storage to be receiving redstone power(as high as a state as you can get, ideally a redstone torch).

well, that explains what I did wrong in the monster pack, still can't get it to function in the DW 20 pack though. guess I'll let it sit for a few versions or something.

OK, so maybe there is a "teleportation" mod as cool as stargates. I've seen this basic concept used in the manga "Ghost in the Shell: Man Machine Interface" by Shirow Masamune (with robotic bodies instead of clones). Since each shell is set up as a separate player with it's own inventory, I'm assuming things like thaumcraft research will not transfer, but it would be nice if I'm wrong about that. Can you use custom skins in single player? I may have to look into getting this working in the DW20 pack. In 1 of his forgecraft videos, iChun said something about making this compatible with RF from TE, has anyone tried running their base on piggawatts yet?

Yes, you can convert Piggawatts into RF(and power your Shell Constructor via RF as a side benefit). The mod Sync is based loosely off of the Sync net series(look it up on Youtube!) and in Sync the "shells" are in fact robotic(and the dude who can use them is somewhere between human and robot), but the character switch is based off of GTA... 5(?) and it's multiplayer character switching visuals.

Side effects of using Shells: They technically are unique to you IIRC, so some things don't always transfer cleanly from one shell to the next. With TC4.05b I planned on setting up a bunch of shells with different "skills", but TC research transfered flawlessly from one to another without using my Goldfish's Diary setup, leading me to believe maybe they aren't actually unique unless I do something special first, like, dunno, use name tags on 'em.

I just downloaded the latest version of sync & dropped it in the mods folder. It runs for me just fine. At 5-6 RF/t per pig on a treadmill, I don't think I'll be powering my base that way. I have disabled about 1/3rd of the mods in the DW20 pack, so I may not be experiencing the conflicts others might. The TiC armor & knapsack tabs seem to be stored separately from the regular inventory, so that stuff may switch shells with you, even though it really shouldn't. You also don't get a latest death waypoint, so recovering your stuff from a shell death will be more complicated.
