If you're using GT, tin really is the only ore factorization gives a bonus with (well, and silktouched coal). Everything else, including iron can be tripled in under a minute.

I'll bite. Please enlighten me on how GT triples ores, without adding side chemicals. Much appreciated!

"Without side chemicals" is a silly restriction, and not one I suggested.

FWIW: Calcium comes from marble, and sodium comes from clay (or if you're mineing the End, sodalite). They're both extremely easy and can even be automated. The only mildly difficult one is mercury, but is sufficient for all gold and most silver - and silver is the one ore that factorization doesn't triple, it just adds some lead.

Mercury can be made from redstone, and if you're making rubies for advanced machinery, it is a side-product of that.

Chemicals are easy stuff.. lol..
Sodium should be the hardest stuff to get; but there's sodalite to grab in the end so.. yeah..
CaCO3 is even easier, calcium from bone meal and carbon cells from charcoal; or marble dust..
and Mercury.. man I even emptying mercury cells in the extractor..got too many of them from centrifuging redstone.

sodium is easily accessible through clay, together with lithium. if you have access to a redrock biome, it's even easier. every red cobblestone together with 3 buckets of water gives 4 pieces of clay. so there is a whole landscape full of clay... and sodium.

This is the "loving Factorization" thread, not the "puckering up for GregTech" thread. Factorization triples ores, without additives. No other mod does. Yes, FZ doesn't process lead ore. He has no lead ore in his worldgen, because from the FZ point of view, the lead you get from FZ silver production is enough to cover the requirements of the production lines and cabling. The blocks of lead you are stacking are coming from other mods.

ObFZlove:

The Solar Turbine (and really, how much silver and lead do you need once you have half of this built and wired back to the factory?)

Waiiit... I was under the impression you needed lead for the wire, and you needed wire for the powergen, and you needed powergen for extra lead production in FZ. So how on earth could FZ not be adding lead to worldgen? It may be turned off in our packs to let TE ride the Beast to victory™, but I thought the lead processing was a deliberate balance decision.

Wrong, just slap some silver in the slag furnace, you'll get lead.

FZ treat silver ore as galena, processing it in slag furnace gives you silver and lead from the beginning, later after all steps you get about 350 % of processed silver ore as lead ingots IIRC. This way it didn't really add any other ore to world gen if you used RP2 already. Compare it to XyCraft ore generation, which adds a lot of new ores in large quantities without any specific reason (like TC3 infused stone), it would be a lot better if they were rare and drop more.

I'm wondering if Redpower will help with this? A Manager, perhaps, so it only pulls crystallized metal out of the crystalizer? Likewise, another Manager might be set up so it only loads the crystalizer when it has 5 stacks of reduced metal chunks. One could always load it manually, if you needed a particular ore sooner, but if the system would hold stock in standby until it had a full load, that would solve a lot of headaches.

I'm hoping this will work, anyway. I've seen some of the Manager at work in Direwolf's vids, but I'd be lying if I said I understood it perfectly.
I'm looking forward to tinkering with it.

I've got a complete Redpower manager controled setup

Managers fill up the crystalizer one slot at a time. However this is really not that much of an issue as i am producing clean chunks faster than my crystallizer can process them (I have a massive back log of ores)

My biggest problem is all the resources bouncing between the managers as they don't seem to be able to go i need x ore only send me x ore instead ore gets dumpped out of the barrel until the grinder is filled then the remaining ore gets bounced back to the barrel.

and i've got quite a distance between the grinder and the ore barrel.

Might want to check the last time this thread was posted in. You just responded to a post 5 months old.

I know its most likely cause its still early in your lets play.. But its nice to see buildcraft pipes in use... Ive been staying away from redpower just because ive done it billion times... And 2 im worried its not coming along for the ride.

If it doesn't come along for the ride then neither will the world I'm using all this RP stuff in.
