Hello,
My server is very strong on grief protection and for that reason the entire computer craft mod has been removed so i cannot use Melee turtles to auto kill the mobs and have the xp gathered by brains in a jar. So i need a new setup, i tried the snowballs in the deployer but i cannot automate the snowball creating system as blockbreakers are banned, So im stuck looking for a new system. I need a system that will kill mobs directly when they hit the bottom platform and i need this way to still produce xp and can keep up with the mobs without getting jammed. BTW the reason i need this is because the server host will jail you if you have to many mobs to lag the server so i need an instant mob killer to prevent them from backing up. Thanks for the help

can you use iron golems? iron golems + visors still give xp, try a drop trap with them to smash mobs at the bottom.

snowballs don't even cause damage, exept for blazes.

Iron golems, tesla coil, mffs, vanilla iron golems, the redpower fire igniter, a long drop, drowning, lava blade, suffocation, arrows, tnt, anvils, and many more...

He was asking for ways that still produce experience, so all of those are out, except maybe the iron golems?

But What about thaumcraft Iron golems, I don't know if they produce experience or not?

I guess you can add all of them to "ways to damage them" before an iron golem with visor.

also potions and fire charges could damage.

Yeah, I think that's pretty much the only solution, because you don't want your iron golems to be fighting a horde of monsters, they'll end up dying.

I'm pretty sure that experience drops when Tesla coils kill mobs. I have some set up in my "yard" with pressure plates and solar panels to take care of mobs that spawn there naturally. I've thought that they'd work well for a spawner kill method since turtles annoy me with the way they pick up the drops. I just haven't tried it yet.

I don't think tesla coils drop XP. Has been a long time since I used them though, maybe it changed? And you can use turtle.drop() to make the melee turtle drop items into an inventory (not tubes/pipes) below it. Or use transposers/filters.

I forgot to mention a key aspect Im in the End, So i cannot easily come across power which is a problem for most of the suggestions so far and iron golems wont work due to my spawners spawning creepers

but still no problem for a drop to weaken, followed by TC iron golem with visors, no power needed, just some good old fashioned research :)

I think you'd be better off basing an xp grinder off something a little less destructive than creepers..
Because if something goes wrong with them, you'll have a base full of creepers that keep on multiplying.
Not a good situation to be in.

Then thaumcraft iron golems + visors are you best bet, they'll target creepers, and when the creepers go to attack them, nothing will happen except perhaps the creeper disappearing, which you can negate by strength cores for the golems + some sort of pre-damage system.[DOUBLEPOST=1362610464][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, if you keep this close to the spawner, then the spawner will auto detect the mob levels, and stop spawning after there is a certain amount of mobs,
