Allocating more ram on a dedicated server.

Hello ppl, got a little question here for anyone who has the time, I have a 1gb dedicated server with fragnet, it works fine but I've noticed that sometimes it crashes cuz it runs out of memory, now I checked the memory usage and its not using the full 1gb, is there a way to start the server with the xms command line to set the maximum memory possible? ATM it's just loading the minecraft_server.jar to start the server up.
Can i tell the server to run from a bat instead of the jar considering its a dedicated server?

Just take away the .txt, and change it to .bat, place it in the server folder, where the FTB-beta-A.jar is.
This will make the server use 1gb all the time.

You can remove the nogui at the end, if you like the mojang gui.
