this seems to be happening for me aswell, when I'm playing the Agrarian Skies modpack and map
it only happens in and around a certain chunk on the map, and no where else on the map

and it's only in the map I'm playing, as I tried opening someone else's world and go to that location, and nothing happened.
what's even more weird is that it already happened when there's nothing in the chunk at all, nothing had been even build in that chunk and it already happened

I'm just dealing with it right now, trying to avoid that chunk as much as possible

I've got the same problem, noticed it early on, just as I setup a number of crucibles for making lava. Haven't tested ripping them out.
Opis doesn't report any issues, FPS is pretty stable, it's an unusual one.

Just want to report that I tested removing all my crucibles, and my lag/choppiness was drastically improved. I also had a big clue to the problem when I loaded my world today. It crashed. Checked the log, and saw this:

I'll be scrapping those Crucibles for lava generation, will have to rely on an old fashioned tree farm for charcoal power, and cook cobble to lava, which is really only needed for the smelteries, the only doubling system available.
