Do level emitters work on inventories that are not part of the ME?

For example: I want a level emitter to turn off an export bus that is connected to an ender chest. The export bus is set to send charcoal and I want the level emitter to turn the export bus off when 1 charcoal is in the ender chest.

From what I can tell it only counts the amount of charcoal that is in the ME System.

Can I link the level emitter to the ender chest?

If I understand correctly, you want your ME system to keep 1 charcoal in an ender chest at all times. For this sort of thing, I'd set an interface to keep charcoal then use translocators to move it to the chest, but you may be able to set up an independent network of a storage bus-cable-level emitter on the chest, just use a quartz fiber to connect for power without connecting the channels to your main network. I'll have to test to see if this will actually work.

It will work, but it will move 2 items in the time it takes to turn off the export bus.

i second the translocator suggestion.

I did the translocator with a diamond nugget upgrade so it only pulls 1 charcoal when the chest is empty.
