160 combustion engines running off of biofuel produces 800 MJ/t. This is fed into 32 magma crucibles @ 25 MJ/t ea.

240000 MJ to melt one piece of cobble into lava. @ 25 MJ/t, that's 9600 tick or 480s per bucket of lava. 32 magma crucibles running @ 25 MJ/t ea. produces 32 buckets of lava every 480s or a bucket of lava every 15s. A bucket of lava is worth 30 000 EU in a thermal generator, so in essence I am producing 2000 EU/t.

edit: I also plan to add 80 more engines, 16 more magma crucibles and eventually finding a way to generate self-generated renewable netherrack by converting cobble. This should double my rates from 2000 EU/t + 1000 EU/t (new additions) into 6000 EU/t.

First, what are you doing with all of that EU? Second, are you having fun with that? It just seems like you'd enjoy the challenge of other mods like Atomic Science or Big Reactors.

Well the EU generation is infinitely scalable. That was my intention. What happens is that I fill two lava tanks that get fed into 2x32 thermal generator modules (each one provides the lava for 32 thermal generators). The thing is, is that the only constant EU draw in my base is my AE system (200 EU/t when using EU-reader). Most of the time my bank of MFSUs (15 I think), sit idle and full.

Every once in a while my tanks will become full, so I have a separate line to my matter fabricator, controlled by a redstone signal. When the tank hits full a timer goes off and it "purges" the extra lava for x amount of time and then resets. This was my original intent, seeing as how the cap is 8k EU/t, I am still far from that.

Personally I don't have much use for that EU other than the matter fabricator and my AE system. If you include the automated systems controlled by my AE system (i.e. everything interfaced/export/import bused) there might be periodic 100 EU/t draws for a second, in which something is smelted or plated, etc.

I was just having fun building a system like this. The problem is that I don't have a similar system to get rid of all this biofuel I have. I could run power converters but that's too easy. I generated 10 million units of biofuel in less than 4 hours. Right now my tree farm is sitting inactive because I can't find an MJ sink.

Though I am hoping my bee DNA stuff will be a good energy draw, along with my MFR mob farms. We'll see what else I can dump all that into.

Keeping in mind that I also have a couple thorium nukes attached to this, along with 20 solar cells of different types. Subtract what my AE system takes and you have what I am sending towards my matter fabricator.

So you're NOT using all that power to power the AE network? Because that was the question.

I was thinking you were replying saying part of your AE system was using 800 MJ/t because that's the topic of this thread and what my post was in context about.

the 100MJ/t was in reference to AE systems, not burning cobble.
