so your seeting all biomes to be wasteland/dead biomes in the bop config, seems intressting

As an optional "challenge" config. I believe there is still a chance of trees to spawn rarely at biome intersections, so finding a village would be a good start for food and intial wood, but finding a sapling/tree of some type would be vital.

I have just pushed a build that adds a config option to turn off fancy Universal Cable rendering. Hopefully this will fix some of the lag issues you are experiencing.

This pack is going well, 80 mods all installed and working nicely. Hardly any config errors (that I've noticed....).

Note to self, just found this new mod http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic...st-updated-1352013-thanks-for-6000-downloads/ Buildcraft tools, adds IC2 style tools and armour, that use MJ.
2nd note to self, also include Assembly Line for UE mods, will finish the alt tech option in the pack.

Just need to install Twilight Forest (For adventures/worldgen/more building materials) and the dino mod (bit of world gen, and dino breeding/mayhem)

Edit: Another note to self http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1711328-152-sspsmp-gravestone-mod-v220/ - functionality, worldgen and more mobs.

I think I'm almost there with the mod compilation, but I would like to make it available to others to use by offering the config files and list of mods and links to manually download. Where would be the best place to advertise it, the 3rd party mod pack forum seems limited to actual "full" public/private modpacks.
It's possible if there is enough interest, I'll set up a private server.

Only found out about that mod by accident. Discovered his amazing stargate mod, wondered if he had released any others, and bingo! What I love about Gregs mods is that they are "simple", "direct", and "does what it says on the tin". I also hardly notice any lighting delay with the floodlights too. Recipes are quite balanced too.

Pack is almost ready (woot!), but two questions if anyone can help.

Bronze recipe is showing as 3 copper and 1 tin for 2 bronze. I expected this to be 4 bronze. Bronze is only used by Forestry (in this pack), but cannot see anything in the config for controlling this.
There's also a recipe for Steel of 1 iron and 4 coal. I think one of the UE mods is adding this. Is anyone familiar with what mod is adding this cheap recipe?

TIA

I thought mekanism had a different approach to steel, with some iron and carbon thingies in one of meks machines? That I'm happy with, just a crafting table recipe is a bit out of place.

Most of the things commonly used in crafting in Mekanism are incredibly cheap. Then again, you can add GregTech to fix it. :D

Basic components is the mod that adds the 1 iron + 4 coal = 1 steel dust. It can be disabled in the config if you want.

BasicComponents should be depreciated, and not used, but many UE mods have picked up its parts. AtomicEnergy includes the 1 iron + 4 coal = 1 steel recipe so it can operate in environments without Mekanism. AtomicEnergy is also likely what's triggering the bronze change (since Bronze Plates are used for some reactor components).

The config options to disable the Steel Dust change, regardless of which UE mod or mods are adding them, is in the UniversalElectricity.cfg file, as B:"Allow Steel Dust Crafting". I'm not sure if the bronze change has a config option.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that basic components is installed automatically when you install other UE mods. So yes, if you add Atomic Science (I'll assume this is what you meant by AtomicEnergy), you do get the steel dust recipe.

BasicComponents is gone. Long gone.

As an independent mod, yes, but I still get a basic components config file that generates when I install certain UE mods. I also get some stuff in the multi mc console thing that says its from basic components.

Just pointing out that it doesn't exist as a standalone thing.
