Tartarus.. I mean at work. Same thing really.
Components like that I set up my system to keep stockpile. (anything you need a lot of is worth storing- especially when certain components take ages to process).
The diamond route I'd probably set as an overflow for excess coal, rather than an on demand/stockpile system.

This is probably down to personal preference; I've adapted my infrastructure to slower processing system.

Well, if you are using GT, overproduction of EU is a given. Since the machines have very discrete use patterns, and given the antics of how EU is generated/stored/transferred, a stable system would be one that is in overproduction, with the leftovers fed into a matter fab.

Either way is fine. Extra preparedness, at the opportunity cost of having already processed some goods into less versatile forms, or one that uses more energy but allows you to maintain a system that requires a lot less babysitting in terms of inventory management, such that you can do other, more important things...

okay, here's a dumb question. It's dumb because I should know the answer because I've done lots of FTBing in the past and have built plenty of bases with EU-based power grids and whatnot, but:

Assuming I build a fusion reactor, and assuming I build a bunch of the plasma generators to handle all the plasma I get...how do I transform this into useable packets? Do I put a transformer next to every genrerator? Do I build them all in a row, string some superconductor by them, and then transform it? Or here's a larger question - If I have a massive amount of EU production, what's the difference between having it all as HV vs LV? If I have 100 Ultimate Hybrids all generating EU, and I transform them all into LV, what is actually happening? Is there a reason to have your power grid operating on HV EU rather than LV EU? I know that its the EU/packetthat makes stuff explode, but if you've got thousands and thousands of LV packets per tick, how is that different than just having the same total EU in HV packets instead?

Having 1000's of LV packets can get a bit laggy after a while (each packet requires a calculation I think)
Also energy loss is per packet; so running 100 packets down a copper cable will lose 100Eu every 6 (I think) blocks.
Plasma gennys are best connected to an HV transformer- giving 4x512Eu/t. This puts it in the range of normal voltage upgrades for your machines.
(Greg's super upgrade is needed for extreme voltages)

Side note- I think transformers have a maximum throughput as they only downsize 1 packet at a time. The 4x512 supply might need 4 MV transformers to make the 16x128.
