Adjusting the Wither's Health?

If you have Thaumcraft or EnderIO it's a pointless exercise since both mods allow you to cage it in a small room and kill it without being hit.
 
Is there any way to adjust the Wither's health to be higher? I can't think of any mod that would let me, or configs. Thanks!
Mob Properties maybe? You can't change the health, IIRC, but you could make it so that it has potion effects like regen 1, resistance, etc.

OR!

You could wait to see what Minetweaker will bring to the table in the next update, which should add mob property scripts :)

Use Minetweaker so the killing the wither is a preresquite for the 'OP' gear.

(I don't mean nether star the recipes- if you have a spare/useless machine, nether star that, and it provides the crafting process for the super-armour materials)

You mean stuff like grass shouldn't require a nether star in the crafting recipe o.O I'm sorry, I don't think I understand :P
 
Basically a nether star unlocks the materials needed to make the 'super' armour

So if you had adamentine armour/weapons, then you'll need to make those ingots in a "adamentine forge" - crafting the forge requires a nether star.

Alternately you could offer a custom villager trade; a liberian will take a nether star in return for say a myst linkbook. That linkbook has the only world where XY materials generate- which are required to craft the 'OP' items.
 
Not sure about the villager trade option, as it is pure luck to get one...
As for the crafting, it's nice... BUT... it's too easy for people on servers.

With a recipe like:
nether star+dirt+seeds=grass the only way for someone else to get grass on a server is use a silk touch item, which although is cheaper than a nether star, isn't always easy :P
 
I believe Mob Properties allows you to multiply a mob's health by a given amount. So you could give it twice the HP, or 1/3, or 2.99792458.
 
I actually want to boost it to make it relevant to TerraFirmaCraft. Because damage was tweaked in that mod you can one shot him with a sword.

I'd also give it resistance II if I were you too then. Why? Because it makes sword damage less powerful ;)

I dont. This is a TerraFirmaCraft pack. So no tech mods, and the only really powerful swords will be minetweaked Imbued ones. Those need stars and that's why I need to tweak the health.
 
If the sword is an extension of a normal sword then it will work. How can you test this? Break a cobweb with it, does it mine fast? If yes, it is a sword.
They do. Good! Now I just need to give him way more health. The problem is that TFC amkes it so good weapons do 350+ damage and mobs have 1000+ health. The wither needs at least 10k I think.
