I have a problem with allocating more RAM to FTB Unleashed. I have 8GB RAM and 64-bit java, windows 7. I put the slider in the launcher to 2 GB of RAM. I go in game and hit F3 and it says i am only allocating 1/2 gb of ram (496mB). No matter what I put the slider at it doesn't change the allocated RAM in minecraft itself. I already tried manually increasing the RAM allotted to Java with -Xmx4096m but that shouldn't be the problem because other games that use java have no problem with memory.

i can set it that low and it allows me to load up ftb but that doesn't change the fact that the maximum still seems to be 496mb

here it is my slider is set to 3GB

Considering you are getting near 300fps, I don't think you need to allocate more than 1GB to FTB. Minecraft doesn't actually use as much RAM as people say it does. In Vanilla I rarely use over 100MB. You might even need to only allocate 0.5GB, but that doesn't add much legroom.

thats my problem... everytime that used memory hits 100% my frames drop to 0. This happens about every five secounds which i s why i need to increase the RAM.

Can you put the full console log into debug mode, copy it to pastebin.com and put a link here?

Just a quick sense check, do you have 32 bit or 64 bit java installed?

Edit: I missed that from first post sorry. Do you happen to have both?

i only have 64-bit i used to have both but removed them and just did 64
full debug coming
