Adding Ars Magica

I've been trying to add Ars Magica to the Ultimate pack, but when I do it gets to the Mojang screen then goes black. Anyone know how I can add it and have that not happen?

A simple changing of the IDs for Ars Magica will fix that. You need to go into the config file for Ars Magica and change the BlockMageLightDim ID from 754. I'm not sure what a good ID would be to change it to, that is the hard part you need to find one that is not used by any other mod. Once you change it and restart the game. It will give you another error if it is an ID that another mod is using. Again sorry I do not have a list of which mods have which IDs. The key words to this error were Block ID and occupied.

While you are at it you might want to update your java version to the most current one. Java 7 update 21.

In the NEI settings, you can export all unused block IDs. Set all the IDs for Ars Magica to ones listed in the unused block ID output.

Would you know how to get to the config to change the id's because I might have found it but the files are .cfg and i can't open them.

NEI will not change them for you. They are simple text files. Open the .cfg files with Notepad. Simply double clicking or right click and choosing 'Open with ...' will bring up a selection box. Choose Notepad.

Edit: Not sure if notepad will add the extension .txt to the file with your default settings when you save it. If it does remove the .txt so it only shows .cfg not .cfg.txt

Ive also been trying to add it, but i can only paste the FTB console log, instead of the 'minecraft has crashed' thing because its just on a black screen

It is an ID conflict. Look here from post 4 - 7 in this thread for info on how to change them.

Sorry not sure about your error Plazmax. It is a different error.
