Whenever I put in a channel into the tesseract and press accept it lags my game as seen here.

Is there any way to fix this?

The long term solution is to not play on a potato (your card doesn't support some *extremely* basic GLSL operations and that's unfortunate).

The short term solution is to disable shaders in /config/cofh/core/client.cfg

How you are getting 60FPS in the first place when your graphics cards is missing what are considered basic functions escapes me entirely. What processor and motherboard do you have? There are plenty of low end graphics cards you could buy that would help you out a ton.

and I don't know about the motherboard Also I'm using an iMac so I don't think I can change the card.

I'm also getting this issue with active tesseracts. I've got a Mac with an Intel i7 processor, embedded Intel Iris Pro graphics, and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M graphics card that it's supposed to switch to for anything graphics-heavy.

Runs fine most of the time, so I'm guessing this lag is not because my laptop is a potato, even though I do have to keep it capped at 30fps so it doesn't burn my fingertips. My guess is that it's not actually switching over to the NVIDIA card.

Config noted; I'll have to change that if I can't figure out how to make the other graphics card work.

I have the same NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M card on a Mac, so it seems something with that driver that doesn't like (or at least doesn't execute efficiently) the GLSL commands in the (new?) Tesseract shader.

Setting EnableShaderEffects to false does fix the FPS issue and returns the Tesseract to the classic shader-less appearance. Which is too bad, as I did like the new look, for the small amount I could see while struggling with the fps issues. (If I faced the wrong direction, I could have 6 different Tesseracts in my field of view—enough to actually grind my FPS to 0 and cause MC to crash or quit to the menu screen.)

I'd be curious to see the GLSL, though it's been years since I last worked with shaders. There might be a way to tweak it to improve compatibility across different platforms.

When i try to open the client.cfg nothing happens? Im on a mac to

Start TextEdit then drag the client.cfg file to its icon in the Dock.

Your computer doesn't know that .cfg is just a text file, so you have to tell it what to use to open it. Drag-and-drop is the easiest way, though there are others more permanent solutions.

Ok so couldnt figure it out but heres my exact steps
1. Open edit mods the made thermal expansion a folder and opened it
2. Went to cofh folder
3. Clicked on thermal expansion folder
4. Went to core folder
5. Took proxyclient.class and put into text edit.
pretty sure i did this all wrong

Yeah, that's not the right place. :) Get out of the "mods" folder (go up one level) and go into the "config "folder instead. They are both in the same place.

config/cofh/core/client.cfg

If you aren't opening the "client.cfg" text file, you are in the wrong place. :)

Thank you! I've reposted the solution (a workaround really) here before I saw this post...

I just wanted to ask about this when I found this thread. Running Mac OS X Yosemite, obviously. MacBook Pro with Intel HD Graphics 4000. I know that is no good hardware, however it's not powered by a tuberous flux capacitor! ^-^ I had two tesseracts running on a server in my base, boxed in, in giant cobble cubes... No one else was complaining and I had to run around looking down, cause I am the only one on a Mac. I also have been looking through the thermalexpansion configs but couldn't find a setting to turn off the fancy ender thingy rendering. Thanks for telling the correct path!
