2. You won't see it coming until it's too late. Then you have the choice of, lightning struck you! Or, your plan succeeded!
You can't form a plan around the GM...that's like trying to build an anti-gravity structure by not telling the laws of physics about your build-site...
Just keep it from the players who would try to stop it.
