A question to apiarist's pipes

I have a queston to you.
For what are the "1" and "0" at the bottom of the apiarist's pipe standing?

Sarcasm aside, I think they're pointing out that you can enter multiple entries into the field in question.

I know I'm going to get this the wrong way around, it goes something like this...

3 main columns 2 columns in each main part

selection 0 (or) 1 and 0 (or) 1 and 0 (or) 1

It's either that or the other way around (swap and's and or's)

Other way around. Basically you can specify 3 different bee species for each color, even hybrids. If you only specify one gene for one double column, then it will get all pure bees and hybrids that have this specie (IIRC).

Ok, i got until there. But how can I tell an apiarist's pipe to, for example, only let a rocky princess breed only with an forest drone or let a forest princess breed only with a rocky drone? But bees of the same species are forbidden to breed among. (With the "any bee" option on)

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that the apiarist's pipe is "stateless" - that is, it can't sort items based on previous items. For that sort of thing, you might end up having to use an interactive sorting system / turtle - that is, you might have to mix in computercraft. You might - might - be able to fool around with redpower to do what you want, but honestly, if you're trying to set up a systematic breeding program, you might as well invest in a full system with computercraft.
