I am getting a new laptop and I want to be able to play FTB with decent fps. I can either buy the current model with an i7-7500U, 16 GB DDR4, 256 SSD, and NVIDIA GeForce 940MX or I can wait a month and get their updated model with an i7-8550U, 16 GB DDR4, 256 SSD, and NVIDIA GeForce MX150. The newer model is much more expensive and I'd rather get the older one if it's not a huge shift.
How does the lower clock speed 4 core 8th gen CPU compare to the higher clock speed 2 core 7th gen CPU? Because Minecraft only uses 1 core, does that mean that the 7th gen CPU will perform better? Also, how does the better graphics card affect gameplay, will it be a noticeable difference or does it not matter?
