What is the bug:
I currently see no way of getting the Taumonomicon and the infernal furnace seems to have a broken texture

Ok, in thaumcraft, most things are not crafted in a traditional manner. The thaumnomicon is made by right clicking a bookshelf with a wand. I'm not sure about the infernal furnaceissue, unless you've been trying to place infernal furnace blocks from nei.

I believe this texture was removed in 2.5.4
