761. Siege Challenge: Start on a new server (Preferably a private one with several friends) and divide the players on the server into 2 teams. One team will have to build a base to protect an object (Wither star block comes to mind) and the other team will have to attack the fort and steal it within a set amount of time. (It's recommended to have a common sense rule; defenders can't use an unbreakable forcefield, attackers can't use weapons of mass destruction, such as nukes or a properly configured blood magic advanced spell system.) Setting keepInventory on is recommended. When you start the server, decide a set date for the battle, such as 1 week from when you started.

If anyone has any suggestions to improve the challenge, please post them below.

763: Generate a world using RTG, then use any of the various methods to pre-load/pre-generate a 1k chunk square.

764: Rearrange all blocks in that generated area (using a silk touch pick on any blocks which don't drop as ore blocks) in flat, successive layers, including any bedrock, going from most common to most rare...With most rare blocks on the new surface level.

765: Use ComputerCraft or Turtles to automate 764.

766: Decide you will be a hardcore mensch and do 764 using only Vanilla mechanics. Bonus points if you manage to get the bedrock to the top.

You do know there is a youtube series called " Far Lands or Bust " that details just exactly that and by estimates will take 22 years to complete.

779. Live hardcore mode in the nether with hostile pigmen.

780. Create a railway 1,000,000 blocks long from spawn, and ride along its length in one sitting, using no booster tracks or furnace carts, and have the return track being entirely launcher rails.

BOING.

Riddle me this: I have a feeling I've heard somewhere that the code was changed a little while ago so the Far Lands would no longer appear, and that there would be an invisible barrier (a la the console versions) - can anyone confirm/refute this?

I remember hearing somewhere that since the terrain generation changes in Beta 1.8, the world sufficiently far from spawn would still appear to generate correctly (albeit perhaps with the wrong biomes- maybe just an infinite ocean?), but physics would break down completely and you'd fall into the Void and die.

Let's see, what's the wiki have to say...

Yes I don't remember when, but you have that energy shield type of barrier now at the edge of the world, and you can tp past it in creative and get on the land past it, but it only goes for about 20 blocks or so if I remember and it just stops

#780 Do all thaumcraft research without the use of sanitizing soap or having warp ward effect.

#781 Infuse an item with dangerous instability without any items that lowers it. Also you cannot place the items symmetrically.

785: kill the ender dragon in one shot with a RotaryCraft gravel gun, while any and all servermates chant "Kill the dwagon", Elmer Fudd style, on a teamspeak call in the background.

786: Build a castle and town, call it Camelot.
787: Build a scale model using Chisel and Bits.
788: Place the model on any block like anti-blocks, to mess with sense of scale.
789: Convince your servermates that the model is actually the castle and town.
790: Convince your servermates not to go to Camelot (tis a silly place).
