Tons of people did it thinking they were so smart for beating the system and cleaning all the taint without using TC. None caught on soon enough that taint in TC2 had two forms; the corruption you could see, and the corruption in the aura. The first was merely a symptom of the latter. And if you treat the symptoms rather then the disease, you get nothing done and your patent ends up dying.
