Hello all, my name is Jake, or Jakethybro. I am working on a Exploration and Magic based mod pack for FTB, called Voyage. Main story is below. So far I have created 120+ HQM quests.

Story
This is just the first draft, sort of.
Joshua was a normal man. He had a family, a wife and two sons. A new house in the corner of the tiny village he lived in was being built. 'No one ever comes to this village anymore' he thought. Upon investigating the new house, he found out that a witch was going to live in it. "This is just a normal town, no witches, no wizards, no demons!" he shouted at the witch. The witch got quite mad, and cursed him. He trapped him inside of a book, a quest book, and sent him to a random person, who needed lots of help.

That's where you come in. You are also a normal person, you have a wife and a single son. You were very poor and had to take in a new job. You decided to become a sailor, out to catch a lot of food at quite a risk, but very high payment. On the 3rd day of your new job, a giant wave crashes over the whole ship. This is usual, but this wasn't any normal wave. Upon touching the water, you got sucked into the ocean almost instantly. From the impossibly fast air pressure change, you fainted. When you woke up, you were on a pirate ship! (Or at least what looked to be pirates) You sat against a pole, tied up. One of the guards were carrying a flint and steel, looking to burn you! As the pirate tried to burn you, his flint and steel broke!

It left flint everywhere and you managed to grab one. Cutting yourself lose, you got up and stabbed the closest guard and jumped into a row boat. Quickly rowing away after that distraction, a pirate saw you a pulled out his hunter's handgun and shot you in your shoulder. (Seemingly on purpose) You lost a lot of blood and eventually blacked out. Then, you woke up on an island (or wherever you spawn), with a strange book in your hand.

About
HQM and Lore Expansion play a big role in this modpack. Almost every HQM quest will give you something called a Lore Page, which will transfer to your journal (You'll get that in the very start). Lore may just give off some jokes, or play a serious role in understanding what happened. There is lots more behind the events that occur above (Story Section). There are 3 magic mods (not including addons) that change a lot about the pack. They are Thaumcraft, Blood Magic, and Witchery. The spirit may want you to become skilled in magic so you can defeat the witches that cursed him. Or you can become a witch/wizard and anger him. The main exploration mods are the Dungeon Pack and Archimedes Ships and partly Rougelike Dungeons. (More info to come)

Hello just to put this back up again I wish all alpha testers a good alpha test when it's out. I also hope that you guys get an easter egg in the lore book ;)

How would I happen to apply for Alpha Tester?
All you have to do is ask nicely. :) I might make something more complicated to apply if I get flooded with these though.
(adding you to alpha testers) I'll send you the pack code when thomassu allows me to use his mod.

When I looked at your story, I immediately thought "Oh! What about Minecraft Comes Alive and Custom NPCS?!!? So many great things you can add to a game with that!"

By the way, so far there isn't a custom map to the pack (or Custom NPCs in the first place, that may be added in beta). Right now I just have about 57 HQM quests. We do have MCA though.

You could also set your own SpawnPoint and your own world seed. People should have two options: Download the map and install it? Or play their own world?

Aha, I see what you mean (I've played Tolkien Craft 2 before). I might do that, I can automatically make the user start with a map through the FTB launcher. I won't use The Lord of the Rings mod though, it doesn't go with the lore. I could use the Custom NPCs gold coins and silver etc. I'll have to take this into consideration ;)

I thought about your idea, and I'm adding it. You'll spawn on an island with a small village (bigger than 3 houses though!). There will be a lot of changes with your idea though.

EDIT: There will be a new section you'll unlock after completing the quest "The Village". Some villagers houses will say "You must complete my quest before you can trade" or something like that. Using quest gate blocks, you must well, complete a villagers quest before entering his house and trading and/or getting loot.

Nice! I just thought it'd be a lot more fun! If you get a hold of a Modder, then you could have then do so many unrelenting things that would boost this modpack to the top!

Okay guys, today I found out thomassu's computer has broken. He cannot reply to me, so I have to take a risk and get rid of oceancraft. That means 24 quests will have to be removed, and ill have to restart my current progress on the map.

Now you guys have to decide what ocean mod ill use. Im really thinking about mariculture but with the factory (machines) module disabled.

EDIT: This also means the pack will come to you guys faster! Also.. it means a map will have to come later.. sorry. :(

Question. Is the alpha code not out yet or whats going on with that?
I just deleted all 24 quests and now its crash-free (so far). I am currently uploading it to mediafire as we speak and filling out the modpack forum. I should have the code tomorrow.
