This is a great idea. I was thinking about maybe creating a similarly themed pack for myself but you might just save me the trouble... Reminds me of the old Universal electricity mods which obviously Mekanism and Galacticraft were once part of. Once Resonant Induction becomes more stable you should definitely consider adding it in.

Yah resonant induction looks like a cool mod, but I'm probably not gonna add it since there are so many tech options already (but hey that can always go in a future pack that I might make ). I am however waiting on Calclavia's MFFS to be a bit more stable before I add it, since it would be great for space bases.
i just downloaded the pack via the launcher, but it doesnt seem to work. when i start it, it loads until the "mojang screen" in the left corner it says initializing... and then it crashes.
heres the crash report

Yah I saw a lot of crash reports with that error. Can you try increasing the amount of RAM used for Minecraft in the launcher? Try assigning a minimum of 2 GB.
Edit:
Just saw your system is 32bit. Sorry, but I don't think this pack can run with less than 2GB of allocated ram.
Seems like even with vanilla TCon you can't use Iron Picks to mine ores harder than Iron, Copper, Tin, etc. As for the Bronze level tools, just add a mob head to increase the mining level. It is a feature of Iguana Tweaks to lower every tools mining level by 1, so that you need to add mob heads to increase the tools mining level (note: this is different from mining speed)

Hmm quick one to other pack users, how did you mine your first bits of ore? I am using the flint pick (TCon) which, with IguanaTweaks, is on par with a vanilla stone tool yet I can't mine even the 'soft' ores like copper or tin.
Edit: Ignore me, I had a derp and forgot I need to boost it first!
Edit 2: I would suggest blacklisting some level up modifiers though. Getting autosmelting on your tool can be a royal PITA

As for an early game tool of choice I usually stick with vanilla tools (1 iron pick + loads of stone picks) until I get enough copper/tin for a bronze hammer. I save my iron for making steel.

Welp not at home currently, but I have notified @tfox83. I will try to reproduce this, but it worked fine for me yesterday. For now if you want 0.5.5 you can grab it here. You will probably have to use MultiMC (it can detect FTB instances) to launch until I release 0.5.6 (which will be recommended)
Binnie's Mods has a module called Genetics which can basically do everything you can with Gendustry. This was formerly part of Extra Bees, but now has a lot more features.
