Hmm... I had someone else have this same error on linux as well. Would you try manually updating IC2 to the newest version from the jenkins, and see if that helps?

I'm not quite sure what to say... only other thing I would suggest is updating Forestry to the latest version. I don't have a linux machine.. so I can't attempt to duplicate. Anyone else care to help?i downloaded the latets build mate and got the same crash error

Would you mind updating to Java 7 from the Java website to see if that fixes it? That's the first thing I would do.
It looks like the crash has something to do with this.I'm on a mac that's at 10.6 so no Java 7 for me I'm afraid

Tried updating to latest Forestry and IC2 to no avail unfortunately, even tried reinstalling forge - shame because it looks like a great pack
So, I'll fix the backup thing and I'm pretty sure i know how to fix this Linux crash, but I won't be able to do the update till the weekend... so just hold in there, I'll get it fixed. I'm going to try to obtain a version of Linux to do some testing.
To fix linux crash, rename the industrialcraft .jar to IndustrialCraft2.jar, can confirm that this fixed the crash for me.
Thanks! I can't confirm this works, since I don't have linux, but I'll do this by default next update and I'll fix the server download right now.
The fixed server downloads are up. Or you can just change the name of the ic2 jar file to IndustrialCraft2.jar
Everytime I try to create a new world minecraft crashes
It doesn't give out an error but I have Copied the console (pastebin doesn't load for me so... yeah):
BTW: with the FTB Launcher it already crashes while starting - I've imported it in MultiMC...

I deleted NEI, NEI Addons and NEI Plugins and am usin CraftGuide now - it works ;-)
With just NEI Plugins removed it kept on crashing because of NEI Addons an with this removed it kept on crashing because of something I couldn't filter out (which of course was NEI itself)
I had troubles with NEI in another Modpack... Why? I like NEI
