Version:
1.0.3

What is the bug:
The longer I play the laggier it gets. I have to restard the game all 4-5 hours. I'm not sure if it is a ressource leak, but I assume so. I looked at how much ram the javaw.exe was using and I noticed it was always increasing, even after I was only in the home screen. I looked at it in game for 15min and it was always using more and more memory.

Mod & Version:

Can it be repeated:

it's not the CPU. Same problem here.

Kinda looks like: if you have enough memory, the leak isn't noticeable (or takes sooo much longer to notice). I'm on 8 GB and it's pretty fast noticeable.

I can't pinpoint where it's at, I've updated several mods to try and fix it. It kinda looks like AE for me... 'cause I feel like each time I open a terminal it get's slower and slower. Just not sure if that's right considering I've had it outside AE as well (kinda also feels like thaumcraft is doing something bad)

it also looks like it's clientside only... server doens't seem to have any issues

I also have around 8gigs available for my Windows OS, and I haven't had this issue. But then issues are never equal cross-board.
Nevertheless, try removing AromaBackup and Journeymap from the pack, and see if that clears it like it did the last couple updates.

Hmm I'm still on 1.0.2 idd, might upgrade to 1.0.3 .. but I think that might be a hassle with updating my server

do note I already updated several addons individually

speaking of which.. an addon I updated recently also keeps disconnecting me.. not sure which tho I think it's openperipherals

I had a lot of similar issues with serious lag with the new pack. I don't know why 1.0.2 works fine and 1.0.3 lags, but after adding FastCraft, the lag was gone. I'd say give it a try. I haven't had any other errors with the pack since.

Maybe I could give some more information about this, as I'm having the same problems with DW20 packs 1.0.2 and .3 and a DIY modpack (see below). One of the reasons of creating it was DW20 lagging as it lagged my rig and my gf's laptop (Linux, i5, 8GB RAM, Java 1.7).

After a few hours of playing the game gets sluggish, lag spikes appear, FPS fluctuate. If not restarted the game becomes unplayable. All because the swap space becomes filled and I/O wait starts to rise leaving less and less CPU time for the game. This happens without regard if I'm serving a LAN game or participating in one.

As far as I've started testing FastCraft it doesn't give any results and I would be quite surprised if it would fix memory leaks (if it's the case).

One solution is to throw more swap at the problem*. Throwing swap from a second disk with a higher priority allows me to have a longer play, but only delays the problem.
Second solution, which I plan to try at the weekend, is to switch Java versions and/or use OpenJDK and gather as much logs as possible. Currently I'm using the 1.8 one (see specs for details).
Third is to turn off mods one by one, but I don't see a point of playing a modpack in such way.
Fourth option, the least desirable, is to get an answer that my rig is below par and go rob a bank.

Short *ware specs:
Mint Linux 3.13 stock kernel
Code:
$ java -version
java version "1.8.0_11"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_11-b12)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.11-b03, mixed mode)

* Upgrading RAM is troublesome for my rig, as I have DDR2 chips and it's hard to get similar chips (Corsair Dominator) for a reasonable price (they can cost as much as DDR3 [sic!]).

Hmm swap might explain it for my situation as well... I'm running it in a sandboxie-sandbox ... why.. well if I wasn't it started to influence other applications like chrome and stuff..

anyway back to swap.. sandboxie shoves everything on my c-drive for some reason (yeh yeh windows user) so lowering the space my box has for it's swapfile...

I could try and move my swap to the D I guess to see if that fixes it... and/or figure out how I can get sandboxie on my D
