How long does it usually take for the logo for a new modpack to show up on a tshirt in the shop section? I'm itching to buy a IE:S tshirt.

    Early skyblock Quad Cobble gen!

I made my cobble-gen by building a small platform under my starting platform by swimming down, then harvesting the 9 dirt you start out on. I used 8 of the dirt for the lava holding portion of the cobble-gen, and the other 1 dirt to continue growing trees.

    Thaumcraft 4 is Released!

So how do you get rid of existing taint in the world in this version of Thaumcraft? I watched the 3 direwolf videos and while he showed off a taint biome, he didn't say anything about how to make it go away.

You know how in NEI you can download (export) a text file of the block/item ids? I think it would be cool to have a mod that extends NEI's functionality here to give you a way to download all of the recipes in the game as well. It's a lot of information, so it would probably need to format the...

    Metallurgy Discussion

I like the new crusher recipes proposed on the github, per ShadowClaimer: "Implementation of some new recipes for the Crusher to add additional functionality. Cobblestone > Gravel Smoothstone > Gravel Gravel > Sand Netherrack > Soul Sand Glowstone > 4x Glowstone Dust Sandstone > 4x Sand Log >...

    Metallurgy Discussion

What I think would help Metallurgy to fit in with tech packs better are mid-late game machines that combine a wide variety of mixtures of metallurgy ores, and possibly other ingredients to make other materials, not just other Metallurgy ores like the current alloys, but all sorts of stuff. I'm...

    Unleashed vs. Unhinged

I'm loving the Resonant Rise pack. To check it out, first find the google plus community for it, then follow the link to the launcher and enjoy.

What are my options in the Unleashed pack for manufacturing clay/bricks? Or is mining it the only way to get it?

8 things I learned after my first FTB world

There are other options besides gates for improving your item transport to eliminate feedback loops and properly handle excess materials. RedPower tubes, Applied Energistics, etc. Gates are a great solution for some things, but there are cases where gates are far from being the most elegant...

    Most Efficient Start

If you want to set up an automated way to harvest trees for their wood you have a number of options. Doing this in Vanilla is extremely difficult, requiring lots of pistons and tons of complicated redstone circuitry. So, some of the mods in FTB provide automated options. It's possible to set...

    Noob stuff

Agreed. Also, taking the time to set up intricate automation gives a greater feeling of satisfaction if you have a good sense for what it is like to things by hand. It's sort of like how none of us modern folks get excited about seeing a washing machine, but if you were to show a person from the...

    Most Efficient Start

It's still worth asking the OP if they have any specific goals, as any advice about efficiency can be more accurate if it is tailored to a specific goal. For example, if the OP wants to rush to a Steve's Carts tree farm as part of the path they have decided to take, I would want to remind them...

    Most Efficient Start

I wouldn't recommend constraining yourself to building whatever is the "most efficient" in an absolute sense. Not every mod author has the same sense of game balance. While the modpack creators do make an effort to exclude super cheaty "dirt to diamonds" type mods, they do wind up accepting a...

I'll go ahead and post my idea for a mod even though I'm hoping to learn how to do modding so I can make this mod myself (I already know Java): Task Management Mod: When I play Minecraft I tend to be a bit scatterbrained about what projects I'm working on. I want to make a mod that gives...

    Boiler Questions

    1. Nah, they are both good, just depends what kind of fuel you have more of. 2. One easy, popular option is to make a good sized tree farm (either Steve's Carts or MFR) - this can power either a solid fueled boiler (turn your logs into planks using a bunch of sawmills and dump them in -- if...

    Collected Guides Thread

Hi there ICountFrom0. Could you have a look at my new spreadsheet guide thingy and let me know if what I am doing has already been done, and give me a bit of feedback. Thanks. http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/functions-of-the-mods-organized-by-tasks.23194/

Functions of the Mods organized by Tasks

Hi everyone. I have finished the first pass of moving my guide to the Google Spreadsheet, and have updated the OP. Please have a look at tell me what you think so far. I will continue expanding it to mention more of the items/mechanics used by the mods to fulfill these functions, and...

Functions of the Mods organized by Tasks

I'm working on this. I posted a link in the OP to the spreadsheet I'm working on, even though it is only partially done so far (I just got through the Decorations task). The plan is to eventually have separate tabs to filter the list down for each of the various modpacks. I don't need a sticky...
