I believe this is a Java version error. What Java version do you have installed?

There is an issue with opening the jar files. It sees the Jar but is unable to open it to read the data which is causing the problem. Do you have 7zip or any program able to open .jar files?

Maybe delete Optifine and see if it makes a difference

Have you tried temporarily disabling your Antivirus and/or firewall to see if this is the issue?

I would say the problem probably lies in your brother's PC since he is the host machine/server. I could be wrong since I don't have much experience with this issue but it would be a good place to start while waiting on someone else to reply with better knowledge of this situation.

Where did you allocate the memory at? In the settings tab of each modpack in the FTB App? Did you make sure to save your changes?
