I've used Mo' Creatures in the past and haven't had any noticeable difference in fps (I guess I'm just lucky). A way I'm unlucky is that the client does not leave any kind of crash report. I'll keep trying.

I think it is 64 bit. My router can't handle dedicated servers.

It's a newly generated world. I created it just before opening it to LAN.

Actually, the router is a very possible solution. I am able to set up a normal Minecraft LAN server, but not a dedicated one, same goes for all games. My router is a WNR2000v3 I think. It sucks by the way.
