Solved "Exception in server tick loop" on startup (Linux)

Thanks for the reply. I had no clue it was running Java 6 as I manually installed java 8 (tar zxvf jre-8u71-linux-x64.gz) After countless attempts of removing java 6, it now says I'm running Java 7 ("sudo apt-get remove openjdk-6-jre" and "sudo apt-get remove openjdk-6-jre-lib".) So after...

Solved "Exception in server tick loop" on startup (Linux)

Hello. Novice linux user and first time creating a MC server through linux. I'm currently trying to set up a FTB Infinity Evolved server on a 32GB VPS (Accessed through WinSCP and PuTTY.) Yet after installing 64-bit Java and said modpack I get this error when trying to start the server ("Java...

    [MindCrack] Solar Boilers?

Ah. That makes more sense. Thanks for that.

    [MindCrack] Solar Boilers?

So I looked around for a while and noticed something about reflective mirrors working on boilers. So I've tried a ton of things in a test world with no luck. So unless there is some new block that I have no clue about then may I ask what is happening here? If there is a boiler besides the LP...

Pulverizer is better than Macerator In GregTec

For comparing the two, the pulverizer beats the macerator at a first glance. Though the macerator has waay more upgrade options. It's like comparing a modern car to an 80s car that slowly turns into a formula 1 car. For those who've used a rotary macerator on 13.5kRPM, you know what I'd talking...

    Chunkloader woes?

Yeah, While I can see why the admin shut down the server, I can also see why you used the loaders in the first place. Some things I need chunk/spot loaders just so they work properly like if I'm pumping oil from a far away location, need a chunk loader to keep thermal generators supplied with...

Mods decided to make it impossible to make solar power!!!!

..Because I can just plonk it down and go do something more fun and more productive towards advancing while it does it's thing. Seriously, who the hell watches their solars? They may look pretty but I wouldn't like to have a staring contest with one.

    Decent Reactor Design.

I'd highly recommend using a chunk loading mining turtle on around layer 16 then so it picks up every diamond in the area. Just run it on the lava it find and you'll be set. I tell mine to keep digging 10x10 areas (type "excavate 10" and it does it's own thing.) So it's hardly a problem to get...

Mods decided to make it impossible to make solar power!!!!

Already. Done. It. On. Multiple. Worlds. I already know how to make a safe reactor setup. Even something foolproof like making a contraption to automatically turn off the hot reactors. Though reactors become boring and more of a chore for me after using it so many times. So I like to branch...

Looking for a good ore processing system with GT

I think he's talking about an automated industrial grinder. So gregtech grinders only. As for IG grinding, I have a ton of spare MJ so I can keep filling the cells with a liquid transposer (taking water from xycraft's new way of getting infinite water.) and of course, buildcraft pipes to pump...

    Decent Reactor Design.

If you have to use actual diamonds for the cable (not dust) and you have less than half a stack, don't bother with it. Save them babies for something better. Everything else should be easy to come by at this point if you got some mining assistance (Turtle, quarry, cart, ect.)

Mods decided to make it impossible to make solar power!!!!

I know solars were overpowered. Yet I'd with the new recipe requiring a matter fabricator and precious iridium (which is VERY hard to come by that early in), I'd say it went from a recipe a bit too easy to a game crippling one. You can't say "oh just use the fabricator to magic up some iridium"...

    Decent Reactor Design.

Just making a set-up that doesn't have to be changed every time someone upgrades. Besides. GFC isn't hard to get with electrum and diamond dust from nikolite ores. Besides the initial use for the dust (every gold, copper, ect cable ->GFC), I tend to make more of it than I use. Also...

    Decent Reactor Design.

If I can remember correctly, the max EU/t a reactor can reach is 2048EU/t. So I'd say just pop a HV-Transformer onto it and then glass fibre cable leading to whatever. If you have none of that, then either use HV cable or also place an MV-transformer and use gold cable. Though I highly recommend...

Keep a chest filled with 8 different items and dump the rest?

hmm.. Actually I think emerald pipes could work if you're only using it for stuff like caving. It'd just be a pain to do as you'd have to tell them every single item/ore that's out there. Which would be possible. Sorry for the first post. I kind of misread it as separating instead of keeping in.

Keep a chest filled with 8 different items and dump the rest?

If you enjoy buildcraft, diamond pipes do exactly that. Every side has 9 options as to what goes in it and if you need more slots, just add more pipes.

How do YOU power your quarry?

Because different people have different tastes. So having a little bit of everything to please everyone is always nice. Before I can make solars, I burn coal coke, use creosote oil in the semifluid generator and place lava cans in the thermal generator. Why I don't still do that is because I can...

How do YOU power your quarry?

Manual labour is only fun to part of the people who play it. If I thought blowing up my house with 10 nulcear reactors was fun or perhaps using the chemical reactor a million times just to get EU, I'd do it. Instead I just use one in a remote location for noting but RE-E Uranium cells and use...

How do YOU power your quarry?

Probably because the others actually require maintenance. you know, when a quarry does the mining for you, why not just let the solars do the powering for you too?

How do YOU power your quarry?

I say add a couple more if possible. I think the quarry's max speed is 47.5MJ/t so two more would max it while only wasting 0.5MJ/t.
