Opinion: Why I think some mod authors should think twice about their new content

I do have to disagree with what you say here in a way. Firstly your real life analogy can't really be applied to a video game; To put it into an analogy myself if you are in a video game that has a really fun combat system and come across a crossroad that splits into two paths and both paths...

Opinion: Why I think some mod authors should think twice about their new content

Slightly off topic here but surely you would not require a rollback or any chunk/world resets to sort out a CC code that is designed to crash the server if you had access to the server files you could surely delete the startup programs from the server files thus stopping the computer from...

Opinion: Why I think some mod authors should think twice about their new content

He is not saying anyone is forcing him to use IC2 currently but he is saying that if all mods simply stuck to adding 'innovative' new things that no other mod had done he would somewhat be forced to use IC2 for its ore processing and armour features as that would not exist in any other mods when...

    What farms are the best?

Part of Bee/Tree breeding is the discovery finding new species by randomly breeding bees together. Things like having all the types of breeding pairs on the internet and NEI addons has kinda killed that but that is why it is undocumented in game.

Opinion: Why I think some mod authors should think twice about their new content

I would like to start by pointing out that you named more mods you consider innovative than that you dont in your post, that is just something I noticed. (Also that you named NEI as innovative when in reality it was designed as a 'better' TMI/Recipebook combining the features of the two) As...

    What farms are the best?

Steves carts is still good. Barely takes any upkeep to maintain the durability of the two lower tier farming modules and the highest tier doesnt take durability. While the question of which farm is best is somewhat subjective to what you need if you need a lot of materials from your farm steves...

Why Do People Always Build Boxes?

I have a tendancy to build a box and put my stuff in it to start with, then if I chose to make it look nice later on I will build something nice looking around the box so that the inside is a box and nice shaped for sticking stuff in. But the outside appearance is not so boring.

    An AE Conundrum

The simplest solution is somewhat as little said but slightly different, the easiest way to do this would instead of keeping the system stocked with 10 silicon is to get a faster furnace, possibly use an IC2 induction furnace or electric furnace overclocked and then use the external processing...

So rumors are GregT is now an IC2 dev

Some of the new stuff Im seeing coming out of the experimental branch is a bit meh in my oppinion. For instance now you need to use a hammer to get plates of metals and then you need to use some cutters on a copper plate to make copper cables. Seems for one of the lowest tech items in IC2 that...

So rumors are GregT is now an IC2 dev

While the plates are in there far as I can see the plates will be used for making certain machines and electrical tools. Not for vanilla stuff or anything like what is in GT with them being needed to make real tools. As far as cells go the cell is now called a universal cell, not sure 100%...

So rumors are GregT is now an IC2 dev

Far as I can see the ore washing machine does something similar to the TE pulverizer instead of tripling it gives you a small ammount of a different ore. So if you run Gold ore through it you get a little bit of silver too.

[Dartcraft] How do you add cores to armor?

Best thing to do to look for changes in mods is to go onto each mods page and look at the change logs.

So rumors are GregT is now an IC2 dev

http://ic2api.player.to:8080/job/IC2_experimental/changes There is a link to the IC2 jenkins page where they upload their builds, if you look at the names of the people making the commits greg is one of them.

    Thaumcraft Aura problem

Looks like there are some close enough from the picture though just to be sure, the crystal core can only move nodes within 24 blocks of the core so just make sure that is the case.

    Thaumcraft Aura problem

The range at which an aura node will work is 0.25*the maximum Vis the node holds that is why it only works from 100 blocks away it must be around 400 in Vis. Knowing that should help you get it in range of your base.

How do I get a bee back to its base traits?

Well if you have a princess with different traits and a tonne of drones with the base traits repeatedly breeding the bee with the original drones would do the trick however asside from that the only real way is to put its original traits on using the extra bees machines.

does anyone know what ore this is

Thats a beehive from magic bees I believe containing an Infernal (IIRC) bee.

So rumors are GregT is now an IC2 dev

If Greg just does bugfixes then there is no problem there, and to be honest I would not mind him adding some new content to base IC2 (yes I know people have said he isnt there to add stuff just make bugfixes ECT I'm just saying personally I would not mind if he did add some new stuff) that is...

[Solved] Buildcraft: Flatten broken in Unleashed?

I like that you are 200% sure you are using the right pattern... yet using the wrong pattern :P It was changed quite a while ago.

Which mod adds the block that increases the number of sides available for a bloc?

The sneaky functionality of certain blocks does sort of do something similar to the transvector interface but not quite, the interface links its own sides to that of another block remotely so you can link the interface to say a furnace then pump items into the top of the interface and they go...
