    [1.7.10] TerraFirmaPunk 2.0 - TerraFirmaCraft & SteamPunk Adventures

OneWolfe mentioned that on the previous page - try Forestry trees as they don't work with TFC trees. As you observed yourself. The Hydra (and plenty of other things) do take quite some time to kill. However when you take into consideration that the pack was built for groups/multiplayer it...

    [1.7.10] TerraFirmaPunk 2.0 - TerraFirmaCraft & SteamPunk Adventures

Like I said - the original reason you mentioned putting it in was that. It wasn't originally put in for any ore-gathering reasoning. And you're right that Forestry trees should work just fine considering that their leaves would have to remain unchanged to work at all. Which it seems they do...

    [1.7.10] TerraFirmaPunk 2.0 - TerraFirmaCraft & SteamPunk Adventures

In the TFC Tuesdays series OneWolfe mentioned the primary reason he included it was the silkworms. Because the Archimedes Ships require such a large amount of cloth, this would be a reliable way to obtain string which can be turned into cloth for the airships. The sieves happen to be a nice...

    [1.7.10] TerraFirmaPunk 2.0 - TerraFirmaCraft & SteamPunk Adventures

I've always found that a consistent and procedural approach tends to work best. While not necessarily the 'fastest' way, if you can manage to determine rough outlines it makes it a lot easier to home in on the center. Since most veins tend to be quite large you frequently hit early. The most...

    [1.7.10] TerraFirmaPunk 2.0 - TerraFirmaCraft & SteamPunk Adventures

Unless you have a source, you're just guessing same as everyone else. Which is why I asked for official news - as to stop the guessing all around. Yes it takes time. Hence asking whether he's gotten further on it or had to postpone due to other obligations.

    [1.7.10] TerraFirmaPunk 2.0 - TerraFirmaCraft & SteamPunk Adventures

Any news - or still caught up in other responsibilities that this is simply not working out at the time? I think I speak for many others that we'd love to hear a status update on TerraFirmaPunk 2.0 ^^

[1.7.10] Ingenuity - Are you Ingenious? ---- Where's all the usual mods?!?! o.O

You're definitely right in saying that while Botania is used in a lot of packs. Its not fully "utilized" by most players as there are easier alternatives. (AE2 and Tinkers predominantly.) Why use corporeal sparks when you have AE2, why use the tools when you have Tinkers Tools. I love the...

*wow* You can consider me thoroughly impressed.

[1.7.10] Ingenuity - Are you Ingenious? ---- Where's all the usual mods?!?! o.O

Fair enough point. Keeping good tools around while you explore the unfamiliar can be a great help. Millenaire is awesome btw, it surprised me that its not that frequently used. Though I suspect that may have to do with its tremendous resource requirement. (It can wreak havoc with older machines.)

    [1.7.10] The Ferret Business [WIP][BQ + HQM, 500+ Quests][v 0.2.6]

Just my thoughts on this matter. But I think in many cases you'd be better off with multi-step quests that offer a bit 'larger' of a reward than a ton of tiny ones. Ofcourse I haven't seen the quests you've made so my thoughts could be entirely off the mark. Going off of the premise you put, of...

[1.7.10] Ingenuity - Are you Ingenious? ---- Where's all the usual mods?!?! o.O

First off - this is merely my opinion, I can see why the choices were made and don't have a major problem with it. As I said in my previous post. Its just a little thing I think would've meshed better with the concept of ingenuity. That said - I'll explain my reasonings and the mods I may have...

    [1.7.10] The Ferret Business [WIP][BQ + HQM, 500+ Quests][v 0.2.6]

With this pack currently being 'only' in v0.0.8 - is the 200+ quests an indication for the final version or the current version? Cause if it has 200 quests already, I can't imagine how impressive the endresult will become. Looking forward to seeing this pack reach a more completed state to try...

[1.7.10] Ingenuity - Are you Ingenious? ---- Where's all the usual mods?!?! o.O

Interesting premise, though I personally feel that to stay true to that, you could've left out Applied Energistics 2 and Botania (and perhaps even Tinkers) and replaced them with other less-used alternatives for item storage/management, tools and support features. Only a relatively minor detail...

    [1.7.10] Rebirth V2.9.10 | Mekanism 8 | Custom Mods | Very Stable | 7/24

Heya, Impressive looking pack you've got here. Is there any indication of how much RAM I'd be looking at to run this? (Both user and server side.) I want to run a small server for some friends, not all of them have really good computers so performance is always an issue.

[1.7.10] Technofirma - The Original Terrafirmacraft Modpack

What if you provide the player with a vanilla bucket and/or a way to obtain vanilla buckets? I guess it does add the problem that TFC water is made with limitations in mind, but it'd be a functional compromise? Though I suppose that is your reason not to do it. Not wanting to break with the TFC...

[1.7.10] Technofirma - The Original Terrafirmacraft Modpack

Seems to me that the sapling problem can be easily resolved - if they can manage it for ores/metals, the same dictionary trick can be applied for saplings I reckon. Getting a magic approach to TFC seems pretty neat aswell. Would add a bunch of depth. Though not necessarily the direction that...

[1.7.10] Technofirma - The Original Terrafirmacraft Modpack

Yea, BTW creator flowerchild had a bit of a falling out with the forge crew and doesn't play nice with other mods - its a bit of a "in a perfect world" kinda dream that would never work out. TFC is close to that, its more that Bioxx never intended for it to be compatible because he wanted to go...

[1.7.10] Technofirma - The Original Terrafirmacraft Modpack

Surprised to see something more low-tech like Cogs of the Machine not be suggested for this pack before (or atleast not in this thread). Computers and robots are neat, but don't really fit with the initial feel of TFC. Though its great to see people trying to make more advanced packs with TFC...

    [1.7.10] TerraFirmaPunk 2.0 - TerraFirmaCraft & SteamPunk Adventures

Surprised to see Smart Moving isn't part of this pack nor even suggested in this thread before. TFC and Smart Moving are a match made in heaven - especially when you consider crawling through ore veins after causing a collapse. What kind of server would you reckon this pack requires for a small...

    Opinions on Microsoft buying Mojang

I'm surprised there's so much talk about allowing modding, but little mention of Microsoft's stance on monetization. I'd imagine that while they might allow the modding to continue, their stance on monetization is pretty damned strict. And the subsequent prevention for anyone to make money off...
