Will this hardware handle Monster well?

For 4 people, yes he will. Absolutely so. Maybe not 10 players with tons of machines running. As the OP says he will only host 3-4 at a time, it will be perfectly fine. The machine will be dedicated solely to running a server for no more than 4 people. He could, in fact, run a 4 man server on...

Will this hardware handle Monster well?

I think the OP is looking at buying an already-built machine on a super tight budget.

Will this hardware handle Monster well?

The C2Ds perform ever so slightly better at the same clock speeds. Its not really a big difference; and you may not notice anything at all if you were to swap between the two. The Intels do have a bigger cache which means a lot when you run a server, thats why I suggested those instead. Im am...

Magical Disappearing Quarry. (I dont like this magic)

No, its a family server. The others werent even on when it happened. Ive also put the Quarry in two different chunks so far, so it seems to be a worldwide issue :(

Magical Disappearing Quarry. (I dont like this magic)

Soooo Im running a household FTB Unleashed server with 4 regular players. We all play on LAN. My quarries keep disappearing and the land is reset all around it, as if it were never there. There seems to be some sort of problem with the chunk 'fixing' itself after I log. I could exploit this bug...

Will this hardware handle Monster well?

Im running a 4-5 man server on this: AMD Phenom II x4 B55 8GB Crucial Ballistix 1333mhz Seagate Barracude 500Gb 7200.11 GeForce GT 440 W7 64 Not only does it run the server, but it runs an instance of FTB Ultimate with TreeCap added at the same time. 4 players at once dont even make it sweat...

HighEnd FTB server, hardware setup, Server Os, etc..

Thats a nice tool; Ive never heard of it but sounds great. Our worlds werent corrupted per se, but there were some issues during the building process. For instance, we had one world where only one player's home and area around it looked like a quarry took it out. I mistakenly left a couple mods...

    Problem Server Help Please

You're missing files that probably failed to automatically download. You can try reinstalling the server from the FTB Launcher or you can manually add what is missing. Im new myself to hosting a server but I do have a FTB Ultimate running on LAN at home, using MCPC+ and added Treecapacitor...

HighEnd FTB server, hardware setup, Server Os, etc..

Ill tell you this: It was quite an ordeal getting a 4-6 man family LAN server up and running smoothly. It took 3 days of work to get it running, then about 2 more days of work to iron out the bugs. We dont have a permissions system either actually, we do - Essentials; you're either an OP or you...

Problem server crashing every time more than 1 person joins!

Barney is running 1.6.4 and the newest version is 1.7.2... And I had 1.5.2 to start, but thanks anyway. I fixed it myself.

Problem server crashing every time more than 1 person joins!

Ive fiddled with it for a couple hours and got what seems to be a stable build working. I started building a new server on an empty USB stick. Got FTB Unleashed, then tried a few versions of MCPC+. Im dropping them right in one after another until one works. I believe I had a snapshot 1.5.2...

HighEnd FTB server, hardware setup, Server Os, etc..

I use a Phenom II x4 B55 (dual core unlocked to quad) on W7 on a PC we use for everything (IE not a standlone server) and everything is fine. We only have 4 players on a LAN though. Its a private home server. It does function and barely touches the RAM and CPU.

Problem server crashing every time more than 1 person joins!

To be 100% accurate, version 1.7.2-R0.4-forge1033-B51.jar is the correct file - right? Im running a home LAN server for the family and we dont NEED /sethome and all that, but its nice to have. I was running an older version - 1.5.2 (that matched the FTB server version) and everything worked...
