    Configs

Also, make sure you make a copy of your config folder every now and then to a completely different location. I didn't, which is why I now give out this advice. :)

    How do I Find Iridium?

Typically, iridium ore only exists as chest loot. GregTech and maybe some other mods can add it (or some equivalent) as an ore. You need to find one piece of ore and place that in a Scanner. When scanning is complete you can save the "pattern" to a crystal memory. You then import the pattern...

    ChunkLoaders and controlling there use

You could try Dimensional Anchors which also has a quota system (and then disabling other loaders / removing recipes with MineTweaker). I haven't tried the quotas myself, but the chunk loading seems to work fine. The recipe is cheaper than ChickenChunks by default, but given that chunk loading...

SteamBoiler - Fuel needed for heat-up?

This can probably give you statistics: http://calculator.towerofawesome.org/ From what I've seen in later versions of Railcraft, the heat-up period is basically removed. However, once at 500 / 1000 degrees, the boiler consumes around double the fuel as compared to older versions.

all modpackt are running at 4 fps

4 FPS actually gives you a gaming experience which is six times as cinematic as cinema! Jokes aside, maybe your graphics card drivers have insufficient support for OpenGL?

    Thermal expansion help.

They have already been suggested, but I'd like to recommend Ender IO conduits. Some nice features: Once configured, an item filter can be moved to another conduit. Settings are remembered until they're intentionally cleared. No transport time for items (teleportation), which typically means...

    Processing poor ore

I process poor ores using an Extra Utilities trashcan.

    The Magmatic Engine

To me, one of the most important aspects of playing modded Minecraft is being able to maintain high TPS and FPS once I have left the early game. And I'm actually not playing on a potato. That's basically more important than any and all balance issues put together, since once I have seen those, I...

    Mystcraft in 1.7.10 DW20 pack

To me, the problem is that it takes work to get what I don't want. Mystcraft used to have zero randomness once you had gathered enough symbols. I found the mod much more entertaining back then. It felt like I was flying around looking for pieces of the age I wanted to build, and I knew that once...

    Lag problem with Direwolf20's pack

It's unlikely, but there are very few absolutes in the world of software. :)

    Lag problem with Direwolf20's pack

It measures how much time Minecraft (both client and server) is spending running / rendering various elements, like entities and tile entities. This may show you who is the culprit when it comes to "lag" (low TPS or FPS).

Direwolf20 1.7.10 Help, Venting and Discussion Thread

It could generate a few meteors somewhere around spawn (like with the strongholds) but without any plates. Then have a special villager trading the plates. Villagers can be re-created if needed. Personally, I do what I can to minimize worldgen, so I just disabled comets and added crafting...

How do I set up an extractor in rotarycraft?

That could work, haven't tried it. I basically avoided hydrokinetics as soon as I could, given the current rate of lubricant consumption. 8 of them would use a bucket every 7 seconds or so (if it scales linearly).

How do I set up an extractor in rotarycraft?

If you provide enough torque and rad/s (512 Nm / 8192 rad/s), all stages of processing will run at the same time. A tier 4 magnetostatic engine at full power with a 2x gearbox in speed mode will work. Note that this will be quite slow though.

How do I set up an extractor in rotarycraft?

Running a bedrock breaker with hydrokinetics. The bedrock breaker now needs 4 MW to run, and hydrokinetics only generate 512 kW. You cannot chain more than 4 (without bedrock upgrade).

Yet another set of Big Reactors questions

Thanks. :) I figured that if a single regular BC quarry is enough to give me a good surplus of Yellorium, why really worry about efficiency? Still, I'm hoping it will improve a bit when I get cryotheum.

Yet another set of Big Reactors questions

The reactor is 15x15 blocks in the base and 11 blocks tall (13x13x9 internally). Only using molten ender so far, will probably get a little better efficiency with cryotheum. Pictures: All control rods are inserted 40%, 405 fuel rod segments in total. It consumes about 1.5 mB/t.

Yet another set of Big Reactors questions

That does sound a bit like a chore. :) I'm pretty happy with the 100k RF/t I get from my passively cooled reactor, fuel consumption isn't a problem either. From what I've seen, when you build a large enough reactor, turbines seems to drop off dramatically in "value" (all things considered). If I...

Yet another set of Big Reactors questions

There is a cap at 2000 mB/t, which means you need to build multiple separate turbines for larger big reactors. When I converted my reactor to actively cooled and added a single turbine, it reached 7000 degrees. I actually ended up skipping turbines since I wasn't that eager to clone up 4-5...

    TE Pipes

Not very often, in my case at least. I noticed it when I tried to power some machines from the same conduit that was powering an MFR laser drill. That would have worked with redstone conduits. No big deal though and easy to get around.
