I found the problem. But I don't know if it's intended or not. The thing is, for what I understand, Thermalilies will consume lava veeeeeery fast while they are on cooldown. The sound I spoke on my previous post was, apparently, of the lava source blocks being consumed and replaced very quickly...

I checked the configs. It's 15%. And i did it in complete darkness. Closed all accesses and had no light. I popped a torch every now and then to see if any grew.
