    Ranged Weapons

Mining laser works as a ranged weapon if the target isn't immune to fire

Tools & armor, where do steel/thaumium/ironwood/steeleaf/fiery stand?

Ironbark appears to be same as iron but with auto-enchant Steeleaf/nagascale appear to just have stronger enchants by default. Maybe stealeaf is higher armor value? Hard to tell. Fiery is bad for armor and pick. It definitely isn't diamond. The sword is stronger than iron though and the auto...

What is your favorite mod and whats mods do you want to see added to ftb

Redpower. >.> <.< Yeah I consider myself lucky that it's being added very soon :D

    Enchanting

Enchants are easiest to manage by abusing pyrite on gregtech > In about an hours work of farming you could get yourself full best possible enchants by using pure enchanting + an anvil to combine them. Twilight enchants are weak, mostly because the armor is weak. The wiki says that steeleaf is...

    Good GT reactor designs.

Fair enough XD I meant constant running ones, but that reactor falls under the same issue as before... It's a quad plutonium and 4 iridium plates to do what dual uraniums can do without plates >< Props on the efficiency though, in a world of theory it's a good build (or if you happen to just...

    Good GT reactor designs.

The only 6 efficiency plutonium reactor have used condensators. Some people made CCraft systems to cope with teh constant switching and charging, personally I will wait for redpower if I bother at all. I can't find any way of making stacked plutonium (even with reflectors) do both a) not break...

    Good GT reactor designs.

From my experience most reactors work better with 2:1 or greater overclocked heat cells to advanced heat cells (ergo, just gold). It's a real shame because I think the advanced heat cells look prettier in the reactor XD But there are flaws in both IC2 and gregtechs nuclear plans I think...

    GregTech's changes and Ore Gen

For ender pearls - Find any fairly flat biome, I use deserts where possible but if a desert isn't close any flat will do (preferably another taht doesn't rain if there is one?), wait till night, run around like a lunatic and kill endermen. To kill an endermen without them teleporting the key is...

    Good GT reactor designs.

It's condensator's (and reflectors have charges, technically - or use iridium. I have no idea if the iridium plates have charges or not as I've never used them but I hope not), the only way you can get significantly more EU out of a plutonium reactor (note: not efficiency, late game I hardly...

    Good GT reactor designs.

I don't get why people are so stuck up on efficiency, personally if I'm at a point where I can burn iridium into a nuclear reactor, I don't want to be getting less eu out of than I would out of a mark 1 uranium reactor. I personally feel Plutonium is useless without condensator rotations because...

    GregTech's changes and Ore Gen

New players are just as likely to consult the wiki as find out about the search function ingame, and then be confused when the wiki doesnt work (mixed metal ingots always confuses newbies)

    GregTech's changes and Ore Gen

The argument here (which I agree with) is if someone is involved with the gameplay to a level that they want to remove those exploits, they can (more likely than the other party involved) find the config file and change things as needed. Someone who has played minecraft pure and hears their...

    GregTech's changes and Ore Gen

Gregorius adds the additions in the same mod because without it there would be redundancies/his mod wouldn't be as hardcore as it is known to be. Simple as. I'm not exactly sure how you can call a mod (by definition an addon) arrogant, since the fact is a mod by it's mere existence is an option...

    Config Packs - Any Interest?

Assuming it's all fine with the mods it sounds great. I assume this would just be a download executable for the less IT-capable to run so they don't need to touch the file size of minecraft at all?

Are Strongholds more common or am I just lucky...

It is pretty much that, if you live close enough to spawn. Imagine a ring where 4 of the inside points are 500, 0; 0, 500; -500, 0; 0, -500 and the outside points are 1100, 0; 0, 1100; -1100, 0; 0, -1100. If you drew a circle from those points, at least some part of all 3 of the strongholds...

Are Strongholds more common or am I just lucky...

^ This, strongholds spawn in an equilateral triangle on a ring around 0,0 (assuming my info is up to date). I think the ring is between 500-1100 on the axis. Honestly if you keep this in mind it's quite easy to find strongholds anyway ^_^, I can usually find them in <5 pearls by just finding a...

    GregTech's changes and Ore Gen

Except that's the opposite of what it does. The reason it involves itself with other mods (where applicable) is because it attempts to clear imbalances itself. It doesn't mess up other mods of the fun of it, it changes other mods so that one mod doesn't make another too easy, as an example. A...

    GregTech's changes and Ore Gen

For sake of completeness Juan, any points I ignored I agreed with: Solution to that is the nether, at least on the build I'm on. It has been really easy to find iridium in small amounts in the nether with a jetpack (and a silktouch makes this much easier, but if you don't enchant then...
