You actually have to tell mc to use the java 7 version. If you don't it will just use the defult one Edit: forgot to say that in he newest version of the ftb launcher you go to advanced options and there you can choose

If you mean 64 bit and 32 bit then use 64 if you can, it works better with modpacks

I am not sure if this is your problem but i do know that mc 1.6.4 sometimes doesn't work with java 8. It does however work on java 7 and you can have multiple versions for this kind of things. Other than that, i am not sure if it is a problem but some packs (pretty sure blood and bones is...

that does answer the question, the question was just if the things you write in the post as update from some time are actually already in the config to download or do i need to do them myself.
