I have the same issue as well.

EE2 was the devil for a server owner. It had too many over powered items that could bypass world guards and protection. Also you had people constantly making emc farms incorrectly that constantly lagged the server. It was nearly impossible to have it and be a mod/admin and still get to play...

We used MCMyadmin but it caused all sorts of permission issues with gm or pex and tekkit. We eventually switch to multicraft due to using multiple servers on one machine. That software isn't great butI have gotten FTB to work on it alongside vanilla and hack/mine and tekkit till we switch to FTB...

So your speculating then. Thanks for clearing that up. Hopefully one of the actual developers will respond on how they are going to handle that as that was the main reason slowpoke had said he would have to postpone it unless the mod developers could get a mod in that just generated their ores

You can use simple command mods for basic permissions and slight bit of protection. I have been using them on the beta server with success
