I heard the lag with timers was primarily caused by the light updates, and if countered with insulated wire/light sources nearby would not be a major cause of lag. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Found it while watching a video from a forgecraft member (dunno who, someone else than dw20)... Works fine with MindCrack and Dw20 packs (I suppose any pack with Extrabiomes would look exactly the same). It's an awesome seed btw, my favourite of all time from what I've seen so far.

I just had this aswell. Account is legit and works fine on minecraft.net etc... Tried most of the things from the OP, worked fine last night... Annoying.

Just going to leave this here: The seed used in the new forgecraft series (DW SMP season 4) is: "fc3wantsbigmountains" without quotes. It's really awesome!

Reading through this thread makes me wonder if anyone even read the OP. He's not rageing against ponies, but pointing out a real problem of the list of mods beginning to get crowded... Probably not too long after RedPower gets updated... I suspect they will ship it out when all the major mods (and mods affecting world gen) are updated to 1.4.5 or whichever version it might be at such a time.

Thanks for clarifying things, Slowpoke! I, being more of a tech type of guy, was kind of worried about having to deal with TC3 world gen and stuff like taint running loose when I have no interest in doing so. The splitting of mods into several packs will be annoying when looking up...

Ah, yes, I remember reading something about this. Will try later! I still find it wierd that looking around/moving seems equally stuttery when I have 40, 60 or 150 fps.

Actually, I didn't have Optifine installed (this helped alot), but now I get stuttery movement (specifically when turning), even at 150+ fps. Also, Optifine causes flickery trees. I guess I'll play with vanilla textures for a while longer

I'm having abit of an issue after installing this. My fps gets really chunky and sits around 30 fps. This shouldn't really be a problem (sitting with a 4.5 GHz 2500k, 16 GB ram, SSD drive and a Gtx 690). I used to use this pack (128x) with tekkit before and had no issues, so the problem...

Make sure you have 64 bit Java. I had both, and FTB launcher automatically went with the 32 bit one (and I had it set to use more than 1 GB of memory), which caused exactly what you describe.
