make sure your mipmapping is a low as possible. it says it shouldn't have an effect on performance, but i got a hundred fps increase from turning it off.

also, perhaps a mechanic that lets you fast forward/ rewind time (maybe lategame, maybe early) because i know it will be frustrating to some people to wait all night for a certain constellation and then you miss it because of a stray zombie
