    Applied Energistics priority

regarding AE-quartz from overworld: I got nearly 2 stacks of ore blocks out of one full size mine (plus walls). maybe the quartz generation is biome depending, although I didn't read anything about it. regarding the nether as mining location: in ultimate, virtually everything in the nether has...

    If Redpower doesn't update...

I don't consider marble and basalt useless. after macerating and centrifuging (+automated canning machine) that stuff, it gives pretty useful materials. and I consider turning iron ore with a CaCO3-cell into 3 refined iron ingots to be usefull :)

    A truly Ultimate modpack

is it possible to combine the research-system of thaumcraft 2 (no idea, if TC3 has it too) with that system? so, you need to research every item like IC2-generator, pulverizer, redstone energy cell, etc... without research, no machine. and if there is enough research done, you'll get the...

    RedPower for FTB 1.5

as I wrote before: it shouldn't be a problem to split one or two packs into "classic-rp2" and "new". the new package doesn't contain rp2, the classic package does. there is just the issue, that more and more mods contain own implementations of the original rp2-ideas. so, one day, it could...

    RedPower for FTB 1.5

actually, the update isn't that big. minecraft already had 16 values for redstone signal, they were just used for graphics (the different glow-states). so basically, she could just add a method to transmitt those different states directly, or that there is an additional block that gives an...

    RedPower for FTB 1.5

but is this because of her unique abilities of creating a mod, or is it because other mod authors usually don't want to copy existing mods (since it is a bit of wasted time, if a someone tries to reinvent the wheel)? and the usual opinion in several RP2-related threads is: people are sick of...

    Question about Apatite

there is one more thing: I found a apatite veine with 2 1/4 stacks of apatite (ore). and with the grinder, every piece of apatite ore gives 12 pieces apatite + 1 phosphor. so, with a rock cutter or an silktouch enchantet pickaxe, you can easily quadruple the output of the veine.

    RedPower for FTB 1.5

the easiest way is: keep a 1.4.7 modpack available. in the case that there is NO RP2 update for 1.5: everyone who wants to carry on, just carries on, the modpacks keep updating, RP2 drops out of the pack. for those, who like RP2 so much, they can stay at the 1.4.7 pack, with the latest...

how to tell a turtle not to pick up items

or let them stand on a bunch of obsidian pipes or these rp2- collectors (no idea what their name is). this way, the loot is immediately far enough away, so the turles can't get them anymore...

Help difference between eu mj and blue tricity...

there are even more forms of energy. factorization adds it's own system, railcraft uses steam (but that is convertable to EU and MJ). and xycraft is soon going to release it's own energy transmission system. the reason for that is, that all the mods were once standalone mods, and they needed...

Ressources for a fusion reactor plant

exactly, he already did, the changes just aren't in the pack yet. as energy stoage: the fusion reactor outputs superhot plasma. the thing is: that is a liquid. and due to the weird minecraft mechanics, you can store that plasma inside tanks, and consume it on demand... :)

    Lava/Magma Crucible Confusion.

or the slightly OP way: use the combustion engine or the magmatic engine (should take a look at the value) to generate MJ and then convert them with the power converter to EU in a 1:2,5. this turns 1 bucket of lava into 50k MJ (or if the magmatic engine is more efficient, even more). but...

    Xycraft Fabricator - extracting items

a translocator programmed to the specific product item should work too. and it doesn't cost you emeralds. but it costs you 4 or more electrum ingots (depends on the recipe for the chips). advanced translocators would even allow more compact setups...

    FTB Build Idea Collection!

oh, and the electrical engine from forestry is missing too. set up a nuclear reactor, store EU in MFE, MFSU, or so: and if you need BC-energy... run a few forestry electric engines.

PowerConverters OP EU Generation in FTB Ultimate

true. storing energy is much easier with a set of MFSUs (or with gregtech, a LESU or AESU), instead of turning energy in oil, refine that, and burn it in combustion engines or boilers. it seems, most players work around that problem by just setting up a treefarm, allowing them to run the...

    FTB Build Idea Collection!

you forgot Blutricity (solar or thermopile) + bt-engine. BC-energy without any fuel consumption.

Transporting MJ over a long distance (Mindcrack)

the thread was started, when tesseracts weren't available, and since they have a 25% loss, they are still not the best way to do it...

PowerConverters OP EU Generation in FTB Ultimate

what I read so far: 1. energy storage (something that isn't quite possible with buildcraft alone, and expensive with TE) 2. energy conversion (set up a nuclear reactor and watch the system producing oil out of EU) and the system is (as energystorage) more powerfull than a MFSU. 1,5 million...

    Question about Apatite

exactly, and after you found one, you haven't any problems for a fairly long times. aparently my vein was small, because I got just 4 stacks apatite.

PowerConverters OP EU Generation in FTB Ultimate

exactly. the mods are configurable to fit everyones needs (mostly). but only the modpack creator or the server owner knows which mods are inside a modpack. so a central config, where an overall-balance can be done, would kill most of the infinite loop exploits, without harming the overall gaming...
