Advanced diamond drill: fortune III or silk touch?

Steel and Alumite are on the same mining level. In fact, I believe they're statistically the same except Steel having a bit more durability. The problem with Steel though is that you need Nether materials (bricks/soul sand/magma cream, aka a Blast Furnace) to get it, unless you find some Steel...

    Grief Prevention for FTB Unleashed?

The server where I play (which is on Unleashed 1.1.3) uses mytown or something like that and it works fine. You have to learn the commands to use it, but it's not too hard and there are always people online willing to help.

    Oh no...

I know I've seen a biome with a lot of clay in BoP (it looks similar to what Mojang has here, a brown-ish surface with Clay just beneath it). In EBXL I believe Redrock can be turned into Clay by adding a water bucket. So I'm pretty sure both BoP and EBXL already have biomes with lots of Clay.

    Oh no...

I can kinda see what the OP is saying, I'm not a huge fan of this either as this will mean any world between now and when they release the patch with those biomes won't have those new biomes (or at least not close to where your base is). You can't blame them for "copying" though. Mojang added...

    Unleashed vs Unhinged (For Me)

For me it's easy, Unleashed. I don't hate GT and I even like it a bit, but considering how much I'd miss if I would go with Unhinged there is just no contest between the packs for me. If I would really miss GT I would add it to Unleashed and call it a day, but so far I'm not really missing it...

    Bio Reactors MFR help

Can't the cactus itself also go in the reactor? Like without turning it into Cactus Green. Also I think you can get Barley and Cotton seeds from grass as well (thanks to Natura I believe), though I don't know if the Bioreactor accepts those (and if they count as different items from regular...

    Best mob farm?

Witches do take suffocation damage, however they heal themselves constantly with regen and health potions in that situation so they won't die. Similarly, they take fire damage but because they drink fire resist potions it won't be for long.

    Best mob farm?

I believe Extra Utilities adds some sort of spikes which can kill mobs (kinda like cactus, except it doesn't destroy mob drops). So that might also be an option, I don't know if they're any good though because I've never used them. I doubt they're better than a Grinder though.

    Mfr tree farms and boilers

The most efficient way to turn your wood into Charcoal is with a Coke Oven, as you don't have to burn anything in those to make Charcoal and you even get Creosote as a byproduct which can also be burned. The problem? It's very slow. You'll need a lot of them if you want to have a stable power...

    Private Pack Trec Ultimate | 1.6.4 | DirewolfBased | Mature Staff | No World Resets | 1 Year Uptime | True 32GB

I joined today and I like the server so far :) I spent a lot of time today looking for a place to settle down and looking for things other people made and I'm enjoying myself so far.

Adding Gregtech into Unleashed and Finding Ores?

A Witch farm can also provide Redstone I believe, I don't know how fast though considering they also drop a lot of other junk.

    Automating oreberries?

Well TiC/Natura Berries aren't usual "Fruit" items :P It would make more sense to use a Fruit Picker for those, but that doesn't work and I've seen mDiyo say she isn't going to change it either.

    Automating oreberries?

The Harvester settings should work at their defaults. You have to take range into account though, without upgrades the Harvester only has a 1 high 3x3 range in front of it. With upgrades this can be made bigger, but I don't think you can make it taller. They can easily be stacked though so that...

    Tinkers Construct good starting tools

Just tested it and nope, it has to be obsidian (that is in Unleashed 1.1.2).

    Tinkers Construct good starting tools

Yeah, I agree Silk Touch is better early on (and arguably easier/faster to get as well, the Emerald and gold nuggets being the hardest parts). I'm just saying if you have a Block Crusher and a Pulverizer trow the Lapis in the Block Crusher ;) I'm also a big fan of Silk Touching everything while...

    Tinkers Construct good starting tools

This is how I went in my current game, I'm not saying it's the best way or even an efficient way: wood/stone pick/sword/shovel/axe -> first blocks of iron to make a Tool Forge -> wood/stone Hammer/Lumber Axe/Scythe/Excavator (and later a Cleaver to get mob heads for Thaumcraft research) -> Make...

    Automating oreberries?

Thaumcraft Golems can harvest them and the MFR Harvester can as well. Considering the MFR Harvester will accept just about any power and won't die from walking into an ore berry brush I think they are the best option. Golems are more energy efficient, but designing a safe farm for them is...

    Essense Berries

I asked mDiyo recently why Silver berries got replaced with Essence berries and if there is any planned use for Essence berries (considering XP is useless for TiC itself) and this is what she said: "Essence has a planned use: Golems. Silver nuggets were supposed to be trade fodder for...

    Mystcraft oil page

The thing about Mystcraft is that a lot of it depends on randomness. I mean getting pages is largely a random affair, trading and searching until you randomly come across whatever you're looking for (it's not like Iron where you dig down and know you will find it, it's a lot more random than...

    MFR Fruit Picker Help

The Harvester works on berries, but its range is rather small without any upgrades (only 1 high in a 3x3 in front of the Harvester). It also can Harvest any other Natura stuff without destroying the plants, for example Cotton. The Fruitpicker can be used to pick Apples from BoP Apple trees...
