Thanks, I was concerned I'd have to hook multiple sides of the transformer up to avoid waste. How does this work for multiple sides then? Let's say you have 3 sides of a transformer outputting, where does the 4th packet go? What about 5 sides?

It's simple, according to to the OP we're not having fun correctly and need to change.

Solution to server lag would be to enforce users of nether pumps fix flowing lava periodically. If you start near the shore of a lava ocean and expand outwards every so often, you could dam up the area you pumped from and remove lingering flowing lava. You pump it. you fix it.

I like your suggestion. Geothermal and Thermal generators should be a little more creative instead of converting molten hot rock into electricity through magic. If it required water and worked like a steam engine, that would make more sense. Even regular generators should require this, burning...
