Although many would be disappointed with having to restart servers/maps i think in the long run they will get over it and the pros of a full fix would outweigh the cons.

Thank you to everyone that came to help it was much appreciated, the info i got from the test was useful. the test is now over and server returned to normal so no need for anyone else to join. Again thank you very much 'love ya':p

This is not about the server itself as such. Its more about being able to keep a server stable (any server) What i learn from this i can take to any new server builds etc. I imagine most mod packs will require similar resources. so i can use what i take in from this test to any future mod packs...

It is happening right now, people are frantically trying to crash the server but we don't really have anyone that knows what the best way to go about it is. If you could get a pro server crasher for me that would be great. Server is staying at 20 tics and cpu load not going over 50% atm. Either...

Thanks for your input guys, i agree having players go nuts would seem to be a much better test. If i could have some players that can build crazy contraptions as well as a large amount of players to take the 50 spaces that would be great. Unfortunately i don't know these people you have...

have yo checked the obvious things like the server.properties file and opening up the level.dat with an NTB editor to check if mobs are enabled in both?
