Yeah, I haven't seen much about it, but some mods provide bits and pieces, such as IC2 reinforced stone (incidentally, to encourage use of reinforced stone I think IC2 nerfed obsidian, so you might want to be aware of that). I'll edit the original answer to reflect that.

For vanilla explosion strength and resistance: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Explosion You should (edit: if you're really lucky, I kind of misremembered the availability of this info to some extent, sorry) be able to find the blast resistance of most structural mod blocks around the place...

Private Pack Industrial Thunder | Survival 1.5.2 | Whitelist | Protection | Rollback | Dynmap

Minecraft name: The_Enemys Do you agree to follow by the rules?: Of course How many hours a week you usually play(feel free to guess): Let's say probably 1hr a day minimum most days (if I don't have something on) plus extra on the weekends, probably 15hrs a week or more (not a hard limit), not...

Just fully broke both the ardite with paper binding pick and the original cobalt/paper/ardite pick and the tool forge is reporting 26.91 for the cobalt and 27.1 for the ardite's speed. So the ardite pick is just slightly faster when used with the EU upgrade trick. @SpitefulFox This is more FOR...

I just added my results to my post as well. I wonder about an ardite pick with a paper/thaumium binding though... EDIT: Just made a ardite pick with paper binding, it has 1200 durability and with 3 levels of redstone plus moss is up to 20 speed, with a 0.025 bonus per block broken. By the way...

I was just coming back to correct that, having messed around in creative :p I originally thought 1 ardite part gave full Stonebound III, which might have just been in an earlier version, and doesn't appear to be the case now. I tested the following pickaxes using Immibis block breakers: All...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

You can always add an ardite binding or handle to get Stonebound III, and you could also make the 3rd part paper (or thaumium, I've heard?) to put more redstone on it. The resulting combo of cobalt head plus Stonebound III plus 4 modifiers with plenty of redstone would be way faster than a full...

    tinkers construct steel

Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing a MineFantasy type mod* that uses those full processes, as long as there's some means to automate it later, as I like having complex machines with huge, dynamic interactive (like the Infernal Furnace) multiblock structures ticking over in a huge automated...

I don't know about the other variants but Calclavia's take on MFFS allows you to record a structure as a force field pattern and place the right blocks to rebuild it when set up a certain way. The process to record a structure is much improved over the architect's table, too.

@Bellaabzug21: By "combine", zorn means use at the same time, e.g. instead of wearing a MPS chestplate with your MPS leggings and boots, wear a quantum chestplate. They want to know whether the mismatch will cause problems. I think at least the quantum armor does some sort of extra damage...

Accidentally moved filler with gravity gun, now yellow/black outline won't disappear?

Are you running 1.4.7 or 1.5.*? I'm using a custom mod collection on 1.5.2 and testing suggests that the filler stays tied to its marked area, such that breaking the filler even after moving it (even with a save restart in between) breaks the outline. I can't think why any mods other than...

    tinkers construct steel

TiC might add a steel block in case a mod adds steel ingots but not steel blocks so that the basin works properly. EDIT @sks0315: It flew straight over my head that chainmail to steel would require TiC to provide ingots/blocks :P

    A replacement for frames!

Only problem being supplying power, signals and item transport on only the rear face, through the frame, as there has to be a block breaker in front of every front face of the machine. On the plus side, all a prospective frame bore mod has to do is add some form of tube plus redstone plus...

    A replacement for frames!

I wholeheartedly agree. I was just commenting that I'm glad to see mods appearing that do cover the engineering project approach. The bit about RP2 computers was more to illustrate my point about the different atmosphere than anything.

Ender Trap the super basic I need ender pearls but just started my world mob system

As a convenience, later on you could replace the floor with TiC drawbridges, so you could reset by retracting them with a switch in your killbox and dropping the mobs below 128, rather than climbing up the ladder over and over...

Private Pack [G!C] - Industrial Slaughterhouse [1.5.2] [PVP] FTB like mods [CustomPack]

    A replacement for frames!

The main problem I've had with the replacements for Redpower frames so far is that they tend not to capture the same atmosphere, an actual construction with moving parts. RiM seems almost as bad as what I saw of Complex Machines in that respect, with just a magic block sitting there and one big...
