I think so many people use the 9x9 layout because its pretty efficient, and quick/easy to build in a hurry. I am guilty of it alot as well, but trying to branch out, just seems the 9x9 cubes connected is alot easier to set up, and pretty functional for wire running and the lot.

Indeed it would be awesome to make an Age of Oil, ive often wondered if you could make an age of lava? What happens in you stack in tons of lava lake symbols? I have never tried that :)
