    Alveary automation

Ok, so I set it to no restone signal, and it works now (I would like the items to be removed continuously, not just when the queen dies). But This highlights a new problem: my bees have a fertility of 3, meaning I get a surplus of drones. Currently, these just get sent back into the alveary, but...

    Alveary automation

I have been trying to automate my bees in my alvearies, but without success. I have a wooden pipe with an autarchic gate on it, connected to an apiarist's pipe, which is set to send bees back into the alveary, and send the combs over to my centrifuge. However, I can't find a setting on the...

Turtles dropping items into pipes, how?

I'm no turtle expert, but I think that turtles can only put items into an inventory. Since pipes don't have an inventory, they can't take items from turtles. You would need to have a chest and have the pipes connect to that.

Unique Energy, Your Set-Ups and Plans.

On my last world, I had a DDoS reactor setup producing 5760 eu/t with efficiency 6, gave enough UU matter for a fusion reactor in no time. When I eventually get round to building one on this world, it should give out 7680 eu/t (if you don't know what DDoS is, look it up).

Advanced Solar Panels vs Compact Solars

Nuclear isn't that weak, when you think about it, you just have to be creative. My nuclear setup used to produce 5760 eu/t with eff 6, with little maintenance required (that is until one of them blew up because of a glitch). I have a fusion reactor now, but the one i'm planning for my next world...

    Nuclear Power discussions. Sort of.

Pony, if you want to make your own DDoS reactor, you might find this video helpful. AFAIK its the only video that shows a DDoS reactor in action. Its an old video, so the reactor/cooler designs are very dated, and he uses RP2 to automate it rather than AE, but the basic principles should be the...

    Soul shard problem

Its currently 9x9x24, the skellies are nowhere near the spawner when the next lot spawns. I'm making it 11x11x24 as some of them are landing on the semi-destroyed walls.

    Soul shard problem

Its 9x9 with the spawner in the very middle - big enough I think. However I just destroyed the roof and sure enough the number spawning shot up - now I can get this boiler going! However, this just highlighted another problem: spawn rates are still reduced as they attempt to spawn within the...

    Soul shard problem

Yes, I shouldn't have deleted the last thread on this, but how was I to know I would have more problems? Anyway, here's the problem: I have a T5 wither skelly soul shard, powering a single 36hp boiler. I was told that a single soul shard could run multiple boilers, but at the minute it can't...

    Nuclear Power discussions. Sort of.

Lol, the reason I used RP2 is so I could avoid learning a programming language I won't use in 99.9% of my life. Not looking good. The reason I can use RP2 at all is that it doesn't care what the damage value is, only whether or not it has one. This is DISASTROUS news! Edit: So they don't...

Well, as you may have guessed i've never used AE (though that might be about to change). Do these import/export buses look at damage values? Because if not they they wouldn't work since they wouldn't be able to tell the difference between hot cells and cooled cells.

Can you now? I must admit, I'm still bamboozled by AE even after watching both of DW20's mod spotlights on it. I just used RP tubes and filters/retrievers. Well, i'm glad to know it can be done without RP. Guess I don't have to worry about its possible removal from the modpacks.

Actually it wasn't the logic gates that were the problem, since each time they reset they just swap out the cooling cells. Also I made sure not to sleep while the reactor was running. Tbh I have no idea how it happened. Guess its my own fault for not surrounding each reactor in blast-resistant...

Well, technically its Mk III, since its a DDOS reactor (8 of them actually), configured like this. If you don't know how DDOS works, look it up.

My reactor setup used to give 5760 eu/t (until one of them blew up - I still have no idea how). The next one i'm planning on building will give 7680 eu/t - not bad i'd say. By the way, plutonium dust amplifies even more than uranium, it gives 2 million.

Is there an objectively best power source?

You know, this might be necessary now that fusion has gone from elite-tier to super-ultra-mega-elite-tier with the latest version of GT. Its a shame greg doesn't work on core IC2, this seems like the kind of thing he'd do.

Is there an objectively best power source?

You know, all they have to do for mid-tier eu production is buff nuclear reactors (something they should do anyway). Uranium isn't particularly rare, and with a silk-touch pick & a breeder you can get 16 uranium cells per ore. Or, with GT you can thorium super-easily with an industrial grinder -...

Is there an objectively best power source?

Oh wow. Just watched the majority of the video and looks like you'll be needing a LOT of chrome... we really need another way of getting it  Still, that was only the smallest "size" fusion reactor, producing 11200 eu/t. Most of the necessary infrastructure is already there, you just...

Is there an objectively best power source?

While technically the new fusion reactors are more expensive, I don't think you need anywhere near as much chrome as before, which was the main cost involved. Of course you need more iridium but with sheldonite ore its pretty much as cheap as chips (joking, obviously). Anyway, do you know how...

Is there an objectively best power source?

Oh. I never knew that. Well, at the very least, would it be worth trying to compare power supplies for the same power type?
