    Just had an idea...

Are they? I spawned in a few saplings just now and bonemealed them to see what they were like, and they grew 3x3 and 40-50 blocks tall. I also ran them through a treealyzer, and that also said they were by 3x3. So how do you get these 4x4 giants? Unfortunately, sequoia saplings apparently...

    Just had an idea...

Hmm, it seems a simple enough matter to get a massive tree with the right traits (extra saplings, fastest growth etc). Alas, I suspect a significant time investment will be required. It'll have to wait until I'm finished with my exams :( Til then i'll stick with redwoods.

    Just had an idea...

for the most powerful wood farm ever. At the minute, i'm running an 11x11 MFR tree farm, using 2x2 redwood trees, which are turned into charcoal. It outputs enough charcoal to power (at least) 4 36hp boilers, probably more when they're all fully heated up. However, it only just dawned on me that...

    Mystcraft mining age

I've made a whole bunch of ages now, with different combinations of things, and none of them have been anything like how I described them. They've also all been floating islands. Is it even worth bothering with mystcraft? Because its just making worlds at random, without regard for the pages added.

    Mystcraft mining age

I swear this current version of mystcraft is so buggy. I made an age with the exact pages you gave, in the same order, only with extreme hills instead of meadows. Not only was it unstable, it wasn't even an extreme hills biome. The previous incarnation on mystcraft was nowhere near this bad.

    Mystcraft mining age

I'm a complete noob at mystcraft: I get instability even with (what I think are) all the required symbols. What would be an example of a completely stable (if that's even possible) mystcraft age for mining? Preferably it should be just extreme hills for emeralds, though I guess I could live...

    Problem with MFR tree farm

I've decided against using AE for now, since I've got a working setup that doesn't use power. I have another question though: is tree growth rate boosted by xychorium soil? I want to see how many boilers I can power with 1 farm.

    Problem with MFR tree farm

I must say, the amount of wood this thing is making is just ridiculous. I never understood why people are always so eager to nerf boilers, but now I dso: this thing can power several 36hp boilers for hardly any material investment (at least, hardly any compared to the amount of energy produced)...

    Problem with MFR tree farm

Yes. Not gonna lie this farm is an absolute beast! After about an hour or so, i've got over 130 stacks of logs. Its a shame they're nerfing the heat value of plansk in the next update :(

    Problem with MFR tree farm

Damn servers, always ruining everything for us common folk

    Problem with MFR tree farm

Ok, so now i've increased the height limit for harvesting and re-arranged the pipes tosend the saplings to the right place. However, I just noticed another problem: I have 2 harvesters to cope with the massive amount of wood i'd getting, but only one of them is doing anything, the other one just...

    Problem with MFR tree farm

I decided to try making a tree farm which will get me loads of wood. So I setup an 11x11 MFR tree farm, using redwood trees for tons of wood. However I have two problems: the harvesters harvest the wood + leaves, but only for the bottom 16 blocks. The rest is left floating. How can I make them...

    Biomass/Sugar cane Question

The one time I used a boiler, I powered it woth sugarcane->biomass->biofuel. I didn't give with an actual 'official' farm, I just put a punch of block breakers next to the 2nd level of each cane, and ran them on a 30s timer. I also put a bunch of xycraft soil under each cane. I don't know how...

    A REASON to have Roads

You can't do the macerator "exploit" with GT installed, though you knew that already. I'll be sad to lose the soul shard anvil glitch though - now getting a T1 witch soul shard will be nigh impossible, nevermind a T5. I disagree with removing book enchantability on IC2 tools, its not as if its...

    A REASON to have Roads

You know, if you also have IC2 installed, you can make tinker's tools run off EU. Meaning you get all the benefits of tinkers forever. EDIT: You can't enchant tinkers tools normally, but you give them modifications that do the same thing. I think adding redstone increases mining speed, lapis...

    A REASON to have Roads

Funny thing is, i'm the opposite - I prefer to have the right tool for the job. I do use multitools, but that will change as soon as we get this awesome mod.

I need a machine to kill an admin.

Grab an MFSU, a HV transformer and some uninsulated HV wire. Get some power into the mfsu, place the HV transformer next to the output, then give the transformer a redstone signal so it increases the eu/p to 2048. Then connect the uninsulated HV wire to the output from the transformer. Finally...

    Boilers woes

By placing the engines directly on the side of the boiler, I was finally able to get the engines running at maximum capacity. Thank you to everyone who replied :)

    Boilers woes

I've just built a 36hp biofuel-powered boiler, powering 18 industrial steam engines. The boiler is now above 100*C, and is outputting steam. However, the GUi on each engine says they are only producing about 1.8 MJ/t each. Thats a far cry from the 8 Mj/t i'm supposed to be getting. I thought the...

IC2 is slowly dying out ?

Would that make you invincible? Fully upgraded, each piece of MPS armour gives 24% protection, for 96% total. I don't know what a nano chestplate gives, but it should be at least 28% (required for 100% protection). This is a great armour combo by the way: the nanochestplate's jetpack gets a...
