    Invar ingots? What?

Yup, here's a design I just decided to come up with: This is a fairly simple design utilizing the new tesseracts and makes it easy to switch fuel types. The reason for the 8 liquiducts feeding into the tesseract on top is the liquid boilers have output the same steam into tesseracts per face...

    Invar ingots? What?

For the firebox layout it's 3x3 base, and place the boiler blocks 3x3x4 (lxwxh). As I mentioned above, the low pressure boilers are only more efficient when heating up - when at max temperature they use the same amount of fuel, but at different rates due to high pressure boilers producing double...

    Invar ingots? What?

Actually at max temperature the high pressure and low pressure have the same fuel-to-steam ratios, meaning one bucket of fuel in a 36HP boiler produce the same amount of steam as in a 36LP boiler, but it would just produce the steam and consume the fuel at twice the rate. I would actually do...

    Invar ingots? What?

Pretty much that. Boilers have to be fueled constantly and the biggest and baddest out there produces 144mj/t worth of steam. At max temperature it is 45% more fuel efficient than the other engines and can run off of fuel, biofuel, methane, and creosote oil. A single bucket of fuel will run...

    Invar ingots? What?

All energy tranposrt methods have some energy loss, the point was he feeds the quarry through a tesseract so he doesn't have to keep moving energy cells around. For a normal sized quarry it's not a big deal, but for a max sized quarry that takes tons of energy to finish its job the tesseract...

New Forestry 2.0 Farm Blocks aare a PITA

Going with the current 40mu per tree, it's 50 trees per fertilizer. Sure, while what you have may be useful for a long time, it's not completely self-contained thus not being fully automated. Attaching a quarry to it isn't going to make it fully automated either since you have to manipulate the...

New Forestry 2.0 Farm Blocks aare a PITA

Via the new wiki: Now, remember that water level is at 62 for the ocean, and you can see why it's not exactly around prime mining grounds outside of cave systems inside of mountains or similar. That said, this might be ok for Direwolf20 packs as I'm unsure of all the ore gen they have. In...

New Forestry 2.0 Farm Blocks aare a PITA

Even if the apatite can be obtained in abundance, for the most part it is placed out of the way of where people normally mine. Add that into people wanting fully automated systems without any reliance on you having to add an input every so often and the new farms look more like a bad joke. For...

    U.S.S. Hamster [WIP]

Might be a bit late to mention this, but instead of a cobble gen > furnace > smooth stone > brick setup you can go with a magma crucible > smoothstone gen > brick setup. A single bucket of lava can produce 50 smooth stone in the igneous extruder at the cost of MJ from burning netherrack/cobble...

    Out of control Thaumcraft node

The fact that its aura is higher than its capacity alone causes flux. The easiest way to decrease its flux generation then would be to use the excess aura in the node. Also, if you can get saplings, plant some silverwood trees nearby to create some pure nodes. I don't know if it's that or if...

    Diamond rarity?

Can't diamond veins be covered and partially consumed by bedrock? It could very well be that the diamonds you are looking for spawned in unreachable places and had their vein size decreased due to it wanting to spawn at much lower levels than most people mine and possibly underneath bedrock.

    What's YOUR favourite power source?

6060.6 ticks, or 303 seconds, which is 5 minutes and 3 seconds going with 20 ticks a second, give or take a few decimal points. So yea, you were very close. More people would probably use fuel if it was easily sustainable. As it is you have to go out and find new wells when one dries up, so...

Difference between Torch, Sulfur Torch and Aluminum Torch?

If it acted like a relay then it would act like a chest. As long as something is considered an inventory the golem will work with it - with Relays from RP2 they act like chests when dealing with anything that dumps items into adjacent chests, so if it's trated as such then it would work, if not...

    What's YOUR favourite power source?

From what I'm reading right now, it's 30 MJ/t max at the cost of 50 kW, so lots and lots of power for a handfull of MJ

Difference between Torch, Sulfur Torch and Aluminum Torch?

One golem should be fine, just make sure that whatever you have the golem put it in is flush with the rest of the walls/floor so he doesn't have to move up and over it. And yea, I was talkin about the outer walls. With your setup it wouldn't be hard to have, as an example, one block on the...

Difference between Torch, Sulfur Torch and Aluminum Torch?

Other than the walls surrounding it yes, that is what I drew in the diagram, stacked high. Basically the diagrams were on a per floor basis, and I do realize some people have trouble visualizing stuff likes those, so I was actually about to post a picture this morning since I could get on :X...

Difference between Torch, Sulfur Torch and Aluminum Torch?

Yes, but while it looks like that design would increase surface area it actually decreases the amount of torches that can be placed in that area, hence the question. As an example instead of doing a 4x4 you could do a 4x12 and get a 2x5 or 2x6 inside (depending on if you close the ends or not)...

Difference between Torch, Sulfur Torch and Aluminum Torch?

Couldn't you just do a simple 4x4 room and on the inside stack the torches straight up, then have something like a golem pick up all of the goo at the bottom? Or does goo not fall through torches?
