I personally love this tree, its so big, it causes some FPS lag but don't put it anywhere near your base, put it somewhere else, the easiest method to get rid of it is to use mcedit or worldedit, either one will work. If you are looking for ingame means try a quarry or a digital miner.

You can no longer obtain minium shards from mob drops, except in a version of EE where the stone is completely broken and is useless. I believe the only way in the latest WIP versions is using bees.

If need be I can make a tutorial on youtube on how to install MCPC+ and worldedit on a FTB server. It is definitely worth it and so far I have installed many plugins without bugs. It is indeed amazing and very useful.

With worldedit you can select the area you want and do //regen and it will regenerate the area according to the seed the map currently has. you can also use //chunk to select the chunk you are currently standing in. Do note that sometimes with villages when you regenerate it will... ehm.. cut...
