A question about energy storage/ mekanism

Well that's just how it was set, but it's not that bad since you can still make steel using the TC smeltery which can be semi-automated via using seared glass, liquiducts, and vanilla hoppers. If anything the added challenge of automating steel production while bypassing furnaces makes it kinda...

A question about energy storage/ mekanism

Well, it seems it should be noted that if you have Gt installed that you should smelt the steel dust you get from the infuser in a TC smeltery rather than a furnace. If you pop it in a furnace it turns it into GT steel dust that requires a a blast furnace -_-

    Mod Pack Update

Extra bees and tress became one mod so... Apparently this won't affect world gen though since all the trees can be bred from vanilla trees from what I've read.

Ways to travel up & down?

You could probably build a system using CC computers, arcane levitators, pistons (or the new TC drawbridge), and wireless redstone. I'm not too good with lua so I'm not sure how hard it would be to code, but basically you would tell the computer to, say, go to floor 40 (as an example) and it...

A question about energy storage/ mekanism

He was saying start off with heat generators, move onto to hydrogen gens that are jump started by heat generators, and then once everything is all good loop the hydrogen gens so they power themselves.

    Should ftb be... harder?

That's only because of how it registers fortune after it smelts blocks into items. I'm fairly sure if you turn off the config for it though it won't affect stuff like ores, potatoes, or trees anymore while still affecting everything else.

A question about energy storage/ mekanism

Well I already have my enrichment chamber since I got 11 steel from a village I spawned at, so I'm at a decent start there. I also somehow managed to have diamonds and redstone right at the bottom of my mining well, so I won't have to search for that either :X Because of my spawn though I have...

A question about energy storage/ mekanism

Hmm, any tips on how I should start out working with UE? I plan on doing the usual TC start I do to get a smelter running and a hammer.

    Should ftb be... harder?

I think you're misunderstanding what's happening. If you break a block and it smelts into a block, fortune doesn't affect it. If you break a block and it smelts into an item (such as coal, ingots, potatoes, etc.) fortune affects it.

A question about energy storage/ mekanism

Well right now I'm in the process of getting the configs to work with 152wgt since atomic science had a few clashes, but everything else seems good. Edit: Derp, forgot to actually download mekanism, but I should have the configs sorted out now.

    Should ftb be... harder?

It checks the furnace list for its smelting. It doesn't work on stone because stone is a block while fortune works on items. What happens is the pick smelts what you hit and if it makes an item multiplies it. This is why it doesn't work for glass either. Also, mDiyo has an option to turn it...

A question about energy storage/ mekanism

Thing is all of the furnace replacements smelt less than 8 items when powered by one. On the flip side, if you use a TE steam engine yo power an energy cube and then use the cube to power a powered furnace it smelts 19 items.

A question about energy storage/ mekanism

The issue was the factories as I mentioned above with how much power draw they had. I liked the idea of smelting 7 items at once, just not when it would take more fuel to smelt them than a vanilla furnace. This might be different if using a UE coal generator for power over a TE steam engine...

A question about energy storage/ mekanism

Oh I agree with that, but some people look for that kind of stuff and exploit it. The whole reason I looked at Mekanism to begin with was the factories and the energy cubes but seeing as the only thing I would take away from the mod is the latter I got disinterested in it.

    Should ftb be... harder?

Indeed it has. For firey you need a cultivated bee and one of the Magic bees for a start, then you can start working down the branch. I'm guessing firey has a special requirement like being near lava since there are 4 different mutations that can occur from the pairing used for it.

    Bee Breeding Thread.

Thread Necromancy~ But anyways, I do believe that's the case. Fast productivity should increase the rate at which bees produce combs, while for breeding you generally want short lifespans so you go through generations quicker. This essentially means you want a fast worker that dies quickly.

A question about energy storage/ mekanism

The problem isn't so much with passive generation in and of itself so much as some of us just don't like to use that kind of system. Sure, we could use an ultimate hybrid solar panel or w/e, but I prefer to set up something such as a boiler instead of just plopping something down and attaching...

    Should ftb be... harder?

I've actually just recently started mucking around with bees and in my next world remake (plan on doing it tonight when I can get on) I plan on shooting for some firey bees for blaze powders. After spending about two stacks of iron ore on an industrial blast furnace only to find you also need...

    Should ftb be... harder?

You can do 1 stack of coal > diamond, but charcoal would be a bit too easy. Tree farms are already super fast and seeing as EE3 has a method for turning I believe it was 4 stacks of logs into 1 diamond it would be kinda redundant. Neither is a furnace but you need a pickaxe to pick it up. The...

    Should ftb be... harder?

Since we're now back on topic, as was said before, you have to set a long term goal with several short term goals on the way. For example, a long term goal would be, say, getting a full DSU of octuple compressed cobblestone which would be something like 86 billion cobblestone or something. Now...
